Three points on the board, probably just 10 more needed from 15 games to secure Championship status, this was not a great performance but no less than we deserved.
DaveP is joined by Neil, Mark, DaveFevs & Ian in an hour of intelligent debate on the game and more!!

More ”time added on” heartache but positive signs continue
Forever Bristol City Podcast
01/30/22 • 63 min
Another impressive display from City which was worthy of all three points.
Ian and DaveP discuss a match that saw an opening 45 minutes rated the best since Pearson has been in charge.
Two good goals, two stonewall penalties turned down, the growth of W-S-M as a potent threat. All we need to do is close out games better and stop conceding 2 goals a game!!

Some improvement, a C+ performance
Forever Bristol City Podcast
11/21/21 • 60 min
Had Wells header gone in late on would City have held on for a much needed win in the 11 minutes [inc. time added on] that remained? Based on their first half performance we would have said yes but the 2nd half was quite poor which is why we've only given them a C+ rating for this draw against Tony Mowbray's Blackburn.
Injuries and changes meant it was an interesting line up with youngsters Scott & Benarous both starting and Williams returning to the midfield after injury - keep him fit & playing and we won't go down - he's that good.
Ian, Mark & Dave P discuss the match action in our Centenary episode, look forward to Wednesday's home game vs Stoke and assess the fallout from Nigel's comments in the pre-match presser

Southampton [H] the verdict ..... Wow, just wow!!!
Forever Bristol City Podcast
02/14/24 • 58 min
City were fully deserving of 3 points against the high flying Saints whose impressive 25 game unbeaten run was brought to a shuddering halt in the most complete performance seen at Ashton Gate for a very long time.
Manning talked pre-match about a game plan and City stuck to it in a manner that suggests the players have bought into the manager's approach whilst he too has shown he has the nous to make the best out of a squad he inherited as they executed a counter-attacking style with aplomb.
Ian, Mark, Tim join DaveP in reviewing the match and looking forward to Saturday's game vs. QPR

Season 21/22 Preview & Memories of TC with Chris Honor
Forever Bristol City Podcast
08/04/21 • 52 min
Former player Chris Honor talks fondly of Terry Cooper who gave him his League debut as a youngster in 1987.
Chris is often on Radio Bristol in the commentary box as a pundit and he offers a very candid assessment of how he sees the current squad and its prospects in the season ahead.
Chris says a win against Blackpool is essential as, on paper, the other fixtures before the international break look particularly tough.

In Conversation with ... Shaun Taylor
Forever Bristol City Podcast
06/04/21 • 80 min
At age 23 Shaun was a late entrant in the world of professional football when joining Exeter City in 1986. He played 200 games there winning the [then] 4th Division Championship before a move to Swindon Town.
He was an ever present in 92/93 season scoring a Flintesque 13 goals as that lot down the M4 secured promotion to the Premier League. Again an ever present in that one season in the top flight, two successive relegations followed before he led the side back to the Championship.
Shaun's move to City for £50k came in September 1996 and although missing the last 10 games of the season through injury he'd already established himself as a firm favourite with the fans with his tough uncompromising style.
97/98 is the season he will be remembered for as he captained the side to promotion under John Ward. Had Goater not been sold and Shaun not suffered injury in the top of the table clash with Watford with 3 games remaining City probably would have gone up as Champions rather than runners-up.
That injury against Watford perhaps more than anything contributed to that single season [98/99] in the Championship as he did not play until 8 games from the end and by then City's relegation was all but secured.
Shaun hung up his boots in 2000 but stayed on the coaching staff until 2005 then followed spells with FGR ,Exeter and Torquay.
Still living in his native Devon, Shaun is now a Maintenance Manager for a local care home group.
How we could have done with someone possessing his character and commitment in recent years!

NORWICH [A] the verdict ....... a performance that augers well for next season
Forever Bristol City Podcast
04/21/24 • 61 min
City extended their unbeaten run to 6 games in an entertaining game against the play-off bound Canaries.
Mark Sykes fluffed an easy one on one early but City weren't to rue that miss taking the lead after 54 mins with a striker's finish from increasingly impressive defender Haydon Roberts. They only held it for a few minutes before Norwich equalized with a goal that had a hint of offside about it but then stood firm as Norwich sought to further capitalise and finished the stronger side even having a Cornick effort disallowed.
Williams was immense in midfield and surely must be persuaded to stay. Him, Knight & Bird at the heart of the team is an exciting prospect for next season.
Twine was OK but whilst going close with two trademark free kicks DaveP, Ian, Mark & DaveFevs can't make a case for him joining for the money he would cost, "...there is better value out there". He's yet to be on the losing side in his time with us though!!

QPR [H] the verdict ..... so typical of City after Tuesday!!
Forever Bristol City Podcast
02/18/24 • 77 min
Hopes were raised after Tuesday's star performance against Southampton but in true Bristol City fashion the fans were brought back down to earth by the sort of lack lustre home performance that has been all too familiar in recent years.
DaveP discusses the action with Ian, Mark & Tom with the group unable to draw anything positive from the game, indeed, there are questions over Manning's tactics and inclusion of Twine on the bench yet not playing him when the team were crying out for someone who could unlock the QPR defence.
Ian tried to pin the performance on fatigue associated with the recent cup replays but was shot down and there will be no excuses left to defend a poor performance next week at Sheffield Wednesday as the boss will have plenty of time on the grass in training to get his ideology across to the players.
