Final Minutes

On May 27, 2020, in Gilbert, Arizona, Nick Cordova spent his day running his heating and cooling company and was finishing it up with a FaceTime call with his two small children when the unfathomable happened.  As the children were talking with their dad, one of the children yelled out that something was happening on the other side of the FaceTime call, prompting their mom, Alysha, to run in and be faced with the incomprehensible. Jenn, Court, and Beck venture into the day’s events including the 911 call Alysha made, the numerous innuendo’s surrounding Nick’s silent partner in the company, and what the investigators have in their possession to help solve the case including, surveillance video, a shady statement made by the silent partner, and a potato?.

This episode also recognizes Sherry Ann Daugherty, who went missing on August 29, 1991, from Paradise Valley, Arizona.

When 27-year-old Terrance Williams went missing in January 2004 from Naples, Florida, law enforcement was quick to write it off as a man with a troubled life who decided to just leave all behind. However, Terrance’s family began their own search, discovering that the last person to see Terrance was one of law enforcement’s own men. As an internal investigation begins, eerie coincidences come to light between Terrance’s case and another man, Felipe Santos, who went missing in October 2003. Brian Shaffer was a second-year medical student at Ohio State University looking forward to the well-deserved spring break and the vacation he had planned with his girlfriend. On March 31, 2006, Brian began his time off with a night of bar-hopping with friends. As the bars started to close, it was assumed Brian had gotten himself home until a few days later, when Brian didn’t make his flight and it’s discovered no one had heard from him since. Jenn, Court, and Bec discuss the last sighting of Brian while contemplating theories of what exactly could have happened that night.

Continuing their own deep dive into the disappearance of Rachel Trlica, Renee Wilson, and Julie Moseley on December 23, 1974, the families hire private investigator Jon Swaim. Swaim followed up on a number of tips to include the information that would eventually lead to the discovery of the Brazoria Bones taking the case of the three girls down to the Texas coastline and the swampy lands of the Gulf of Mexico. Jenn, Court, and Beck continue to wriggle their way through the numerous people of interest that have become a part of the girls investigation to include a person Richard thought of immediately that fateful night, a story told that involves a wrecking yard, and a disturbed man who was dubbed the “Mall Passer”.

52-year-old Lynn Messer was incredibly passionate about giving all she could. She was devoted to her family, her community, and her church. Around 4 am July 8, 2014, Lynn’s husband, Kerry Messer, woke up to find Lynn missing from their bed. He soon began his search for her but only came up with a concerning note assumed to be left by Lynn. Jenn, Court, and Bec contemplate the pressures of upholding the “perfect family” image while battling mental health and medical issues, Kerry’s seemingly odd and explosive behavior, and where Lynn’s remains were found two years later.
