Each year, the Youth & Family Project in West Bend hosts a program called the Gingerbread House. Emily Greene joins me this week to talk about this program which helps make sure kids throughout Washington County find gifts under their Christmas Trees during the holiday season!

Let's talk about some naughty goats with good, strong goat names. On this week's episode, Cassie and Jennifer Jerich join me to talk about Washington County 4-H. It was amazing to learn about all of the great leadership skills that our youth are learning in 4-H. Also, I learned that it's really accessible for children of all ages and from all walks of life.

Plus, I learn an answer to a question that I've never quite known the answer to — do you need to own an animal to be in 4-H?

This week's show is a great example of why I'm doing this and what I've missed since I left radio. On this episode, I speak with Shannon Siebert of Washington County Foster Closet to talk about her organization and the importance of supporting children in foster care—as well as foster families—in Washington County, Wisconsin.

The Washington County Foster Closet supports our area children by providing clothing and supplies to foster families. Imagine getting a call that three teen children are going to be placed with your family in the next half hour! Being prepared for all ages, sizes, and genders of children would be impossible as a foster family, and the Washington County Foster Closet serves as a resource to the foster families in our area with clothing, supplies, and much needed support.

This is one of those episodes that makes you think and gets you wondering how you can do more for those who are in need in our community, and I truly thank Shannon Siebert and Koa Dautermann for all they do in Washington County.

This week Thursday, November 11, 2021, is Veterans Day. And for this week's episode, I spoke with two well-known individuals who are constantly working to make a difference for our county’s Vets.

A few years ago, Justin and Ashley Reichert, County Executive Josh Schoemann and his wife Jodi, and a host of others put together an effort to ensure that we Forever Honor Our Washington County Veterans. Justin Reichert and County Executive Schoemann joined me this week to talk about their efforts, what Veterans Day means to them, and how we can support our area's veterans.

We have a really fun episode this week where I get to learn something that I've heard a lot about, but have never really learned a lot about. Tami and Wade Mauland are pioneers in the the world of geocaching in West Bend. Their whole family is passionate about geocaching and they share a lot of fun stories about their experiences.

West Bend's Cache Ba$h is coming up August 5th and 6th. Tami and Wade also talk to us about what to expect at this year's bash!
