Fearless Films

Fearless Films

Fearless Films

Fearless Films Podcast is a weekly show where we walk through horror movies, breaking down the beats, discussing the lore and interesting trivia of all the best (and worst) in the horror movie genre. The show started as Pete, the horror buff, explaining the plots of horror movies to Kevin, the scaredy cat, who hates being scared but is intrigued by these modern mythologies.
Kevin eventually retired from the podcast, but the show goes on! Pete is now joined by Sarah, who also loves horror movies, and they continue the tradition of explaining the scariest stories to all the scaredy cats out there, so they don't have to watch the movies.

Hey Fearless Fans!! We've pulled another present from our goodie bag, because its the happiest time of the year! Merry Christmas!!!
This week, Pete walks us through the 1980 film, Christmas Evil! The movie follows a deranged man named Harry Stadling, who takes it upon himself to act as his town's personal Santa Claus. This includes keeping a list of which kids are naughty or nice, and who deserves presents this holiday season, and who deserves to decapitations! Basically, its like a bloody Christmas version of Adam Sandler's Hubie Halloween.
Join us as we discuss why you shouldn't spy on neighborhood children, the importance of therapy after a childhood trauma, and why Dale from The Walking Dead just can't catch a break.
So string up the lights, gather round the fire, and remember: don't get too scared!

Once again Pete has given me a decent breakdown of the movie- Evil dead the remake- so I can write this blurb:
"It's a well done remake of the classic Bruce Campbell Evil Dead that takes things a little more seriously while still staying true to the original"
THESE are Kevin's notes:
"Tongue cutty! The trees are alive and NOT with the sound of music! TRIGGER WARNING they killed a dog those sick fuckos!"
Sooo yeah- listen to Kevin and Pete as they talk through the Evil Dead remake, a movie they apparently disagree with on the quality of. Actually I have no idea how Kevin feels about the movie, that's his standard fare.

It's special guest season on Fearless Films, and this week we are kicking it off when Pete's wife, Cheryl, talks to us about one of her favorite horror films of all time: The Woman in Black!
It tells the tale of a turn of the century English solicitor, still suffering the grief of losing his wife to a tragic accident, having to leave his very young son to take a job in the countryside. He is settling the paperwork of an old estate, an isolated house on a patch of land that gets swallowed up by the sea at high tide. There, he finds a tortured spirit haunting the house, and a town full of people that are trying to drive him out, lest he stir the malevolent apparition.
Join us as we discuss what makes a truly great ghost story, what are the best-sounding English names, and whether the movie or its source novel has the more depressing ending.
And as always, don't get too scared!

We finally made it to the end! Welcome to the final episode (for now) on the Saw franchise. This week we cover the two "spinoff" films:
Jigsaw - A new game has begun, and forensic evidence somehow points to the long dead John Kramer. Has he truly risen from the grave? Or has someone new taken on the mantle of the Jigsaw killer? Seeing as how the rest of the series plays it pretty grounded, you can probably figure it out.
Spiral: From the Book of Saw - This one acts more like a true spinoff. Chris Rock is a cop investigating a series of murders (all of members of the police) that appear to be paying homage to the long dead Jigsaw killer. This movie doesn't play with expectations, it is definitely about a copycat killer. The mystery is all about their motivations and their identity.
Join us as we pick apart these two entries that both Sarah and Pete dislike... strongly! Can we survive to the end of these breakdowns? Or are we going to go as mad as Jigsaw by the end of the episode? Join us and find out. And remember: don't get too scared!

This week we are going over the 2005 film, The Exorcism of Emily Rose!
Sarah breaks down this horror/courtroom drama, which portrays a lawyer taking on a negligent homicide case after a young woman dies following an attempted exorcism. The performing priest is on trial, and its up to the lawyer to help him avoid a lengthy jail sentence. But he insists on pleading not guilty, creating a battle to prove whether or not Emily Rose was truly possessed or not.
Pete marvels at the creepy possession scenes, and shares his thoughts on the plot based on his minor Justice education. There is a equal discussion on both horror themes and courtroom procedure.
Join us for this thrilling horror/drama, and remember... don't get too scared!
