Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Super Bowl LI Preview

02/03/17 • 62 min

Fantasy Sharks Radio
There have been 266 football games in the NFL this season. Now just one more remains – Super Bowl LI in Houston, Texas. It’s a classic “offense vs. defense” matchup, as well as a battle of youth vs. experience. In one corner, you have the NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons, making their second appearance in the Super Bowl and first in almost 20 years. The Falcons are all about offense, ranking second it total offense, inside the top five in both rushing and passing and first in scoring. Featuring the likes of quarterback Matt Ryan, wide receiver Julio Jones and tailbacks Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman, the Falcons are a hard team to stop. Just ask the Green Bay Packers. Opposing them are the AFC Champion New England Patriots, appearing in their third Super Bowl in the past six years and record ninth overall. No team in the NFL gave up fewer points per game in 2016 than the Patriots, a remarkable feat given that the team traded away their best pass-rusher and linebacker either before or during the season. Oh, and there’s the not so small matter of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick, who are appearing in their record seventh Super Bowl together. Can the young upstart Falcons pull off the upset, or will Brady make history as the first quarterback in NFL history to win five Super Bowls? Join Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 7PM Eastern to break down everything you need to know about the biggest spectacle in sports, as well as chatting a bit about Saturday's NFL Honors ceremony. Come on in – the water’s FINE!

Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Wild Card Preview

The fantasy football season may be over, but the NFL season is just starting to really heat up. That’s because whether Jim Mora wants us to or not, it’s time to start talking playoffs. This weekend eight of the NFL’s 12 postseason participants will battle in the Wild Card round. And there are sub-plots galore. Will the battle of bad quarterbacks in Houston between the Texans and Oakland Raiders be the ugliest Wild Card game ever or just the ugliest one of the 21st century? And does either team stand a snowball’s chance the following week in Boston or Kansas City? Do the Detroit Lions, losers of three straight to teams all left in the NFC bracket heading into the playoffs, have a shot at knocking off the Seahawks in Seattle? And if not how far can this iteration of the Seahawks advance? Can the Miami Dolphins repeat their win over the Pittsburgh Steelers from earlier in the season—a win that keyed the Dolphins playoff push? Or are the Steelers the AFC squad best equipped to challenge the New England Patriots? And finally, could Sunday’s finale in Green Bay be the beginning of another miraculous postseason run by Eli Manning and the New York Giants? Or are Aaron Rodgers and the red-hot Green Bay Packers the team no one wants to face in the Divisional Round? Join Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin on Thursday, January 5 at 7 PM ET as they discuss all that, fantasy playoff leagues and more in the first episode of The Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy in 2017. Let’s start the New Year right! Come on in – the water’s FINE! Call-In Number: (347) 826-9620

Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: 2017 Combine Preview

The “Underwear Olympics” is here! This week, 330 of college football’s best and brightest will descend on Lucas Oil Stadium for the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine. There will be tests and interviews and drills galore – drills that will help determine the pecking order for the 2017 NFL draft. And with it the pecking order for this year’s rookie crop in fantasy football drafts this summer. At quarterback, there’s a three-way race to be the first signal-caller off the board this year. But do North Carolina’s Mitch Trubisky, Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer or Clemson’s Deshaun Watson have what it takes to be the rare quarterback who makes a fantasy dent in Year 1? The running backs are always the focus of lots of fantasy attention, and this year is no different. Can LSU’s Leonard Fournette, or Florida State’s Dalvin Cook come close to the immense success Ezekiel Elliott enjoyed last season? At wide receiver, it’s another deep class, but one with no clear-cut No. 1. Is Clemson’s Mike Williams the top dog, or is Western Michigan’s Corey Davis or John Ross of Washington “the guy” in 2017? And that’s without even mentioning the tight ends, let alone the defensive side of the ball. Whether it’s high-end stars, sleepers or busts in the making, join the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy gang on Thursday, March 2 at 7 PM Eastern as they break down the next group of NFL (and fantasy) stars in the making. Come on in – the water’s FINE! Call-In Number: (347)826-9620
