A Court of Thorns and Roses is a fantasy romance series by American author Sarah J. Maas, which follows the journey of 19-year-old Feyre Archeron after she is brought into the faerie lands of Prythian. The first book of the series, A Court of Thorns and Roses, was released in May 2015. There are currently five novels in the series, and a sixth installment, confirmed by Maas, in the works.

The series has sold over 13 million copies and is a New York Times Best Seller!

When Feyre, a poor huntress, shoots a wolf to feed her family (that is actually a faerie in disguise), she kicks off a series of events that see her kidnapped and taken north to the faerie lands by the High Lord of the Spring Court Tamlin. She soon learns that the faeries are impacted by a ‘blight’ and that the land north of the wall is extremely dangerous, not only to her as a human, but due to a villainous force. In her trials, she meets the seemingly duplicitous High Lord of the Night Court, Rhysand, and finds herself in a battle between good and evil.

---------

Throne of Glass is a high fantasy novel series by American author Sarah J. Maas, beginning with the entry of the same name, released on August 2, 2012. The story follows the journey of Celaena Sardothien, a teenage assassin in a corrupt kingdom with a tyrannical ruler, the King of Adarlan. As the tale progresses, Celaena forms unexpected bonds and uncovers a conspiracy amidst her adventures.

The series appeared on the New York Times Best Seller list, and was optioned by Hulu and Disney-ABC Domestic Television for a television series adaptation by Mark Gordon on 2016, but nothing came forward and the rights went back to the author.

Originally known as Queen of Glass, the story initially appeared on FictionPress.com. Bloomsbury acquired the novel in 2010, and purchased two additional Throne of Glass novels in 2012. The story went through a number of revisions prior to publication. Regarding the tale's development, Maas stated, "In the 10 years that I've been working on the series, Throne of Glass has become more of an original epic fantasy than a Cinderella retelling, but you can still find a few nods to the legend here and there. Sarah J. Mass began writing the Throne of Glass Series in 2002 when she was 16 years old.

This is FanCastic! The fantasy book podcast where we fan cast all of your favorite characters from bestselling fantasy books.

Welcome to our first episode EVER! I am so happy you are here!

Join me this week as my dear friend Kjerstin and I talk about the upcoming screen adaptation & fan cast the New York Times Bestselling fantasy novel: Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros.

---------

Fourth Wing tells the story of 20-year old Violet Sorrengail, the youngest daughter of General Lilith Sorrengail, the commanding general at Basgiath War College in the kingdom of Navarre, where students choose to join one of four military Quadrants: infantry, healer, scribe, or dragon rider. Navarre is guarded by wards which are powered by dragon magic to protect the kingdom from all other magic, including attacks inflicted by gryphon fliers from the neighboring rival kingdom of Poromiel.

Fourth Wing became a viral phenomenon on BookTok, where the hashtags "#FourthWing" and "#RebeccaYarros" have more than a billion views combined.

In October 2023, Deadline announced that Amazon MGM Studios and Michael B. Jordan's production company Outlier Society were developing "Fourth Wing" into a Prime Video series with Yarros being an executive producer for the show.

As of the recording of this podcast, Outlier Society still has not announced casting or a release date for the series.
