Here’s a quick recap from Pt 1 of this miraculous story, Howard Leon Whetten was born on a dairy farm in southern Arizona, lived in old Mexico for most of his youth and adolescent life, he then returned to New Mexico where he does back breaking work for $2 a day, he graduates high school at age 23, takes over as breadwinner of the household after his fathers final disabling head injury, Pearl Harbor is attacked, thousands of young men and women flock to join in the war effort, Howard’s far
