On December 8, 1980, John Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, had a busy morning in The Dakota, their apartment building in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. They were photographed by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz for Rolling Stone, which produced the iconic image of naked John curled around fully-clothed Yoko.
