Failure To Stop - 396. LAST CALL: New Mexico or New Constitution?
play

09/14/23 • 64 min

Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham suspended the open carry and concealed firearm laws in Bernalilo County in a test of wits and Constitutional freedom. How will the citizens and law enforcement react?

Meanwhile, President Biden remembers the day after the 9/11 attacks a little differently than written records, video, and audio recordings do. Is he still present enough in actual reality to serve as President. Do we even want the alternative?

Also, a story has resurfaced where US Marines recount their treatment and what they were ordered to do before leaving Kabul in the nightmare that was the Afghanistan withdrawal. Is this any way to treat an American, let alone a Marine?

Tonight on Failure to Stop: Andrea sits down with Matt Klein. Matt was an NYPD detective that found his incredible talent for drawing, and let it shape his career. We will be chatting about how his drawings led to the closure of multiple cases, and how it’s not often talked about that composite sketches are crucial in identifying victims, not only suspects. Now retired, he gets to draw the fun stuff and sells his work on shirts and stickers through his shop. Join us tonight at 8/7C on the FTS Podcast channel on YouTube, then listen wherever you stream.

In 2020, Florida woman Sarah Boone dialed 911 after making a grisly discovery: after a fun night of drinking and hide-and-seek inside her apartment with her boyfriend Sarah passed out and forgot to seek him until the next morning, and well, you can guess the rest. He died inside a suitcase. We have all been there! Jon, active 911 dispatcher will talk about all the luggage fatality calls he has handled through the years.

Drew and Jon give there takes on this bizarre case, starting with the 911 calls, and break down other dispatcher news from across the country.

In South Carolina, a woman jumps into the back of the truck of her boyfriend's murderer, and guides police through a 911 to catch the killer. Was this a good idea? Drew, a 29-year veteran of policing will cast the deciding opinion.

In Tennessee, 911 dispatchers are recognized for their role in the Covenant High School shooting.

From California to Missouri to New York, the untold crisis in public safety: massive deficits in 911 dispatcher staffing leaves those who are still left standing on the thin gold line to carry the extra weight-- but how long before overworked dispatchers break?

All this and what it means for your weekend, tonight.
