Richard who has a BSc Honors in Music from the City University, London, is author of the book “Music Rights Without Fights” and an expert in music rights with senior level UK, US & European experience. Richard is a seasoned conference speaker and panellist, regular contributor to trade media, trainer and educationalist. He started his career as Head of Film, TV and Media at Zomba Music Publishers and then stepped up to start Leap Music Limited, the first music publishing company inside a UK ad agency, as it was part of BBH Communications. Ten years ago, Richard left Leap to start Resilient Music LLP which brokers music rights agreements for advertisers. Richard also consults for Advertising Production Resources, AKA APR as a their Music Rights Management Consultant. Karina Byrne, who has a 1st Class Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance, Recording, Music Management and Sound Design from the University of West London holds the position of Music Supervisor at Cord Worldwide where she works across music Licensing and Supervision for advertising campaigns with brands such as Agent Provocateur, JLR, Vodafone, Shell and BT.
Ellis is an Advertising Creative Manager who is passionate around the world of music. He DJs across numerous Venues in his spare time. With his job he looks at the Strategy & Designing of campaigns which includes working with the likes of Sony, Atlantic & Universal.
Ellis is also an experienced Saxophonist and Jazz vocalist, Ellis is now looking at the industry from the enjoyment of a listener. Jazz has been a focal point to his music discovery, looking at how its origins have now influenced the modern industry.

Adam Bushell, is a freelance music supervisor who has experienced many sides of the sync licensing industry. Starting out as a music supervisor at Soundtree Music, then working in the synchronisation department at publisher Spirit Music Group. And most recently as founder and Creative Director of Tin Drum Music, where he oversaw the music for the Engine Group.
And joining Adam is our second Adam. Adam Lieber who has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Cape Town where he DJed and threw large scale events hosting the likes of ninja tune and other artists. He studied sound design, performance and audio/visual production at Fabrica and has a MA in communication art and design from the Royal College of Art. Adam Lieber, for over 11 years, has been running his own company Shtik, which provides bespoke sonic solutions and composition for advertising, film, television, brand identity, digital and interactive experiential media. Plus, over the same time, Adam has been the Director of Schmutz Films which is a boutique production studio specialising in music, fashion, the arts & of course food, because apparently, they love to eat, feed folks and believe food is the way forward! Plus, and I am serious here, Adam is a serial-fermentor teaching the magic of fermentation in his spare time. But before all this Adam was at Soundtree Music as a freelance music supervisor, composer and sound designer for 6 years.

Greg Brimson, a multi award winning Producer, Remixer, Studio Engineer, Musician and composer who has achieved international chart success working with artists as diverse as Eminem, The Levellers, Gary Numan, Bush, Natalie Imbruglia and on and on. He is founder of Defacto Records and Tuune TV plus he continues to be active in A&R consulting.
And joining Greg is his brother Bob Brimson who spent the last 20 odd years fronting up Universals live operation and video departments. Starting out as guitar tech and tour manager for the likes of Terence Trent D’Arby, Alison Moyet and Kirsty McColl, then co-manager of Britpop outfit Echobelly and a short stint with his heroes XTC he took the company shilling as Head of A&R for Arista Records but soon moved to Universal – he semi-retired after being in charge of the spending for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games in London in 2012.

Eddy Temple-Morris, who has worked in what could be termed as the Entertainment Industry Plus for over 27 years, has extensive experience as a radio presenter and a radio show producer including years of duty at BBC Radio One, Atlantic 252’s On The Edge, The Remix show on XFM and his current position as a presenter on Virgin Radio. His TV experience includes producer and presenter for MTV’s Up For It, presenter on Channel 5’s chart show, producer and presenter for ITV’s This Way Up, presenter for Channel 4’s Mobile One The Grid.
He’s been music curator for festivals, TV and radio shows, even music for The Queen’s summer exhibition plus the favorite tour DJ of The Prodigy, Placebo and Pendulum. He’s produced and composed music used by Films and TV shows including Game Of Thrones and CSI, and video games like Far Cry. He is undeniable proof you can get through this business while being nice to people. Plus he is Chair of the Music Board of mental health charity, CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) and involved with a new game changing mental health start up and non-profit called My Black Dog. He is on a mission to get men to be more like women, by this he means to communicate their feelings more openly and for people to realise that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. He moves, like a benevolent vapor, between the worlds of music, radio, TV, cars, food, wine and mental health. One day he’ll do something that joins all these things. We wish you luck on that.
And joining Eddy is Andy Strange who, for over 30 years, has worked as recording engineer, mix engineer and/or producer. He worked as the assistant and engineer for the legendary Sir George Martin for 15 years and has engineered for dozens of number 1 albums and artists including The Pretenders, Natalie Imbruglia, Burt Bacharach, Mark Knopfler, Bush, George Rafferty, Pulp, John Lennon, Elton John, Duffy, Celin Dion, Cher, Michael Jackson, The Fugees, Paul Young, Robbie Williams and on and on. He currently runs his own studio called Strange World which has both vintage analogue and modern digital systems offering Mixing, Mastering, Recording, Live Recording and Remote Mixing services. Tom Brown is the owner of Lex Records, established in 2001 and Lex Films established in 2011. Tom started his career at Warp Records where Lex was initially a Warp sub-label. Tom took it fully independent in 2005. Lex is best known for releasing music by Danger Mouse, MF DOOM, Neon Neon and BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghostface Killah.
In 2011 Lex started production on a series of short films written by Alan Moore and directed by Mitch Jenkins, the films were screened at film festivals worldwide and are now licensed to AMC's Shudder. Lex Films have produced Alan Moore and Mitch Jenkins first feature film THE and is developing an original animated series STRATA by comic book creator Tommy Lee Edwards and I Speak Machine (here’s a concept art reel https://youtu.be/t8lbZqXI3V0).
And joining Tom is Will Skeaping who studied History or Art and Italian at the University of Manchester and studied History of Art at the University of Bologna is the co-editor of best-selling Extinction Rebellion handbook 'This Is Not A Drill', which is published by Penguin Books. Will is considered a full-time activist.
When he’s not haunting meetings and social occasions as the ghost of climate & ecological future, Will is a Creative Strategist specializing in integrated, scalable, creative brand development; building platforms and campaigns that connect with audiences through culture and technology. That all sounds impressive, but where is the music in all of this? Well, he started his professional career with many years in the music industry, holding positions of radio promotions at Warp Records and then, label manager at Lex Records. Plus, he apparently has amazing taste in music and his parents are cool oddball musicians.

Jon Altham, who is CEO, Music Supervisor & Film Composer at SoundWave Studios in London which is a Premium Music Production Company providing bespoke music to high-end production companies with their team of award-winning Composers, Orchestrators, Engineers and Producers who are able to provide music across multiple film genres. Jon has been involved in many aspects of the music industry before joining SoundWave including Casting Professional at StarNow, Panelist for the Warner Music Group Soundboard, Artist Manager for Award-Winning Instrumentalists' NIRIS, and freelance Music Supervision and freelance Music Composition.
And joining Jon is Mike Patrick, a recent addition to the SoundWave Studios team, is a keyboardist, composer, arranger and producer who started playing music as a toddler on a home electric organ his father bought. Growing up he developed a keen ear for exploring and developing sounds. Enjoying film and animated music especially, he architected his own unique sound demonstrating a signiture level of emotion through his playing. Mike is the first British musician to create a sound bank for the renowned Swedish keyboard company 'Nord', which shows the level of respect he is given for his knowledge of keyboards and programming. Mike has not only spent extensive time in production and arranging but also touring internationally as a keyboard player with top artists including Jake Bugg, James Arthur, The Streets and more.

Mark Garfield of Pop-Up Music and Jonathan Watts of Adelphoi Music discuss the rare finds, the lost gems, the unusual music that they have unearthed for use in visual media sync licensing.
Mark Garfield is the founder and co-director of Pop-Up Music, a global music library and publisher that provides music for sync licensing. Pop-Up has placed music with global advertising agencies such as McCann Erickson and Saatchi and Saatchi, in ad campaigns for Estee Lauder and NAB, in films such as Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Vox Lux (the Natalie Portman movie) and Prospect, in video games like Far Cry 5, in TV series for Netflix, CBS, BBC, Starz and The History Channel among many others. Pop-Up has built a very interesting catalogue that covers a lot of quite unusual music. Mark is also a professional musician who has toured and recorded as a drummer for over twenty years, plus he has a long history of music production and song writing.
And joining Mark is Jonathan Watts. Jonathan is music producer and music supervisor at the multi award winning Adelphoi Music, which is a team of musicians, composers, producers, DJs and passionate music fans and whose extensive client list includes Nike, Lacoste, Qatar Airways, BMW, Ralph Lauren, Virgin, Amazon, Google, among many other world leading companies. Before his close to 5 years at Adelphoi, Jonathan held positions of Head of Production at Tsunami Music, Music Supervisor and Partnerships Manager at Square Enix specifically working on the game Sleeping Dogs, Business Development Manager plus Radio Presenter at the Ministry of Sound.

Naomi Asher, Anne Tausis and Stacey Haber are board members of IAFAR (Independent Alliance For Artist Rights) and they discuss what Neighboring Rights are and how you can collect them. Best is to become a member of IAFAR so you can stay up to date with your rights and help support IAFAR in making sure new legislation is put in place to protect your rights.
Naomi Asher is Vice President of International Neighboring Rights at Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Previously she was President and Company Director of Wixen Music UK LTD which is a publishing and neighbouring rights management company. Naomi is also the president and co-founder of the IAFAR.
Ann Tausis, who has worked in the publishing and music rights sectors of the industry for over 30 years including senior positions at Universal Music Publishing Group and her current position of CEO of Kobalt Neighbouring Rights Limited. Ann is also Treasurer/Secretary and Vice Chair of the IAFAR.
Stacey Haber is Head of Legal & Business Affairs at Inside Baseball Music Publishing. Stacey’s diverse professional life has taken her through many aspects of the entertainment and legal worlds. This includes television, theatre, music videos and feature films. Her in-house legal career began at Instinct Records, in private practice she was a senior lawyer at Simms & Walters LLP in NYC and Theodore Goddard in London working with the firm’s A-listers David Bowie, Elvis Costello and Tina Turner. Stacey is currently, in addition to her position at Inside Baseball Music Publishing, Founder of the multi-media company The Music Firm, Founder of Hope & Plum Book Publishing, Partner at FoxPin Artist Management and Business and Legal Head at the IAFAR.
