LAURA VAN HOLSTEIN is a PhD Candidate at the University of Cambridge who has recently published her revolutionary research on the role of subspecies in evolution, authenticating one of Charles Darwin's theories.
Laura studied for her BA from 2013 to 2016 in Biological Anthropology. Her main fields of research include human evolution and phylogenetic comparative methods.
MARK from Evolution Soup talks with Laura about her ground-breaking work, what is meant by a 'subspecies' and how these phenotypically distinct groups can lead to new species.
We even chat about Tiger King!
