TRIGGER WARNING- involving a child, and sexual assault. On October 1st of 1993, 12 year old Polly Klaas, had 2 of her best friends; Kate and Gillian over for a fun sleep over. After the girls got into some fun with makeup, nintendo, and a board game, Polly opened the door to her bedroom, to find a man, dressed all in dark clothing, holding a dark duffel bag. After binding and gagging Kate and Gillian, the man told them to count to 1,000 and by the time they were finished he would be gone and Polly would be back in her room. Sadly, that was not the case. As Gillian ran through the home looking for her friend, Kate went across the hallway, where Polly's sleeping mother and sister were, and What Polly's mom Eve would wake up to was a complete nightmare. By all accounts Diane Schuler was the perfect PTA type mom. Anyone who knew Diane always wondered how she found the time to do everything she did. Diane was the main source of income in her family, but she still found the time to be super mom, outdoing herself for all of the holidays, and her children; Bryan (5) and Erin (2) never had so much as a hair out of place.
So, what happened on July 26th of 2009, when Diane drove directly into oncoming traffic for 1.7 miles with her 2 children in the car, as well as her brothers 3 small children? What would the toxicology show? It would go against everything, that those close to her thought that they knew. My main source for this episode is the HBO documentary "There's Something Wrong With Aunt Diane". And, WHAT was wrong with Aunt Diane?

On a make-up 'snow day' in Delphi Indiana, 13 year old Abby Williams and Libby German decided to go explore the Monon High Bridge and walking trail. Libby's dad Derek had agreed to pick them up at 3:30pm when he was on his way home from work. When Derek arrived at the agreed upon meeting spot , the girls were no where to be found. The next day, which was valentines day, the bodies of Liberty and Abigail were found, and an investigation for a killer began. With the girls bodies being found outside, and no other clues to go off of, this was going to be an extremely difficult investigation. Until they realized that 14 year old Libby would have had the forethought to take out her cell phone, and record the man at the bridge that day, who was making the girls uncomfortable, and she was able to also hide the phone so after she got a video of the suspect, they also had his voice from the audio that recorded while the phone was in her pocket. This is the devastating case of the murders of Abigail Williams and Liberty German.

In April of 2020, While the rest of the world was worried about running out of toilet paper, denturist Gabriel Wortman and his live in girlfriend of 20 years, were engaged in a blow out of a fight. This was nothing new to his girlfriend, Lisa, she was used to regularly being yelled at, assaulted, beaten and restrained by Gabriel. But on this night she was able to escape and run into the woods and hide. What would follow, would be unforeseeable, even to Lisa, who knew what he was capable of. For the next 13 hours, Gabriel would dress as an RCMP officer, while driving one of the FOUR replica RCMP cars that he had fixed up. He would terrorize, friends, acquaintances, and strangers alike. Many felt as if the RCMP had made multiple crucial errors, that had cost the lives of their loved ones. Could they have done more to keep the people of Nova Scotia safe? This is the tragic story of the 202 shooting in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Fantastic podcast, well researched and balanced. The banter between the hosts is brilliant. The occasional tangents are always hilarious. I feel like I'm listening to a couple of friends having a chat. They've kept me sane and amused through all my alone driving for work. Love them.
