Throughout the entirety of this podcast, we've heard this question over and over: "If UFOs are real, why haven't more people seen them?" It's a valid question, and yet the more we learn about extraterrestrial activity, the more we realize that people have been seeing them! And sometimes even on a massive scale. This week we'll learn about two such examples, where dozens and even hundreds of folks saw the same thing around the same place and time. First, we'll travel to Western Massachusetts in 1969, where a hot September evening saw inexplicable lights and crafts over multiple towns. Next, we'll cover what is quickly becoming halee's favorite UFO sighting! We'll discuss the 1994 Michigan mass sighting, where hundreds of puzzled residents wondered what on earth they were seeing above their houses. We'll talk about radar data, listen to some seriously cool 911 calls, and hear halee's renewed passion for Ufology (and Paul Mescal). Not only do we want to believe... we do believe! This week we're covering the Stephenville Lights, a series of UFO sightings that happened over Texas dairy county in 2008. Over the course of a number of days, dozens of folks reported seeing strange lights and crafts in the sky. The subsequent investigation revealed some pretty tangible and compelling proof of something strange overhead. In September 1975, the community of Waldport, Oregon started noticing mysterious flyers plastered around the town. Starting with a scribbled headline reading “UFOs”, the flyers explained how a man and woman were sent from the level above human, and would return to that level on a space ship in the next few months. Those interested in joining them were encouraged to attend an informational session where they could learn how to transition “from human level to the next level.” So begins the tragic tale of Heaven’s Gate cult. This week we’ll uncover the back stories of the mysterious two leaders and follow the 20 year path their doomsday cult took. Pay attention, coven, because it could happen to any of us.
