Coven, you've heard us share our constant worry that we're both dangerously susceptible to joining a cult. This week, we're really putting our strong will to the test as we cover arguably the coolest cult we've ever heard of. It's got the first female truck driver in Brazilian history, it's got aliens, it's got astral projection, it's got super rad outfits, and it has friendly Jesus. What more could we ask for? In the 1950s, Neiva Chavez Zelaya had been suffering for years from disturbing visions and overwhelming out of body experiences that she couldn't explain. Eventually, she sought help from psychics and spiritual healers, and learned to harness what would become extraordinary gifts. She used these gifts to heal the poor and sick, and grew a following that would number in the hundreds of thousands. Will we soon count ourselves among those followers? Tune in to find out!

Happy New Year, coven! We're starting 2025 off with a bang (Lisey wishes) as we continue our ongoing cryptid series and cover Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp Monster. This one is a real treat, as we dig up firsthand accounts of sightings of this elusive creature. First spotted in the 50s and 60s, he rose to local fame in the early 70s. But has he really been seen for centuries, just called by many different names? Or is he an invention of an avid hunter who wants free reign over good hunting territory? You know we'll share our strong opinions! Join us as we toast to the new year, and partake in some witchy rituals that will surely bring us all happiness and prosperity in the coming year.

Throughout the entirety of this podcast, we've heard this question over and over: "If UFOs are real, why haven't more people seen them?" It's a valid question, and yet the more we learn about extraterrestrial activity, the more we realize that people have been seeing them! And sometimes even on a massive scale. This week we'll learn about two such examples, where dozens and even hundreds of folks saw the same thing around the same place and time. First, we'll travel to Western Massachusetts in 1969, where a hot September evening saw inexplicable lights and crafts over multiple towns. Next, we'll cover what is quickly becoming halee's favorite UFO sighting! We'll discuss the 1994 Michigan mass sighting, where hundreds of puzzled residents wondered what on earth they were seeing above their houses. We'll talk about radar data, listen to some seriously cool 911 calls, and hear halee's renewed passion for Ufology (and Paul Mescal). Not only do we want to believe... we do believe! Happy February, coven! We made it through what can only be described as the longest month of all time! And it turns out that even in February, weirdness abounds. This week we travel from possible historic wreckage on the ocean floor, to justice in the sky as the perv flight attendant finally gets criminally charged. Speaking of justice, we're happy to report on both an influencer and murderer who were held accountable this week too! We'll hear about the devil spontaneously shattering a violin, mysterious deaths in Kansas City, and some pretty compelling survey data that suggests you all want to believe (in UFOS) just as much as we do! In 1845, a crew of 134 men set out in search of the elusive Northwest Passage, hoping to find a shortcut between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Armed with thousands of canned goods, gallons of lemon juice and a passion for adventure, they set forth on the HMS Terror and Erebus, ready for a taste of glory. Instead, they found themselves stuck at sea for more than three years, their ships encased in thick, unforgiving ice. When it refused to thaw in 1848, the men abandoned ship and headed out on foot in the hopes they'd find help and a way home. And then... they seemingly disappeared. It would take years before any trace of the men was found, and what was discovered were simply sun bleached bones, scattered in the wind. Today, much of the failed Franklin expedition remains a mystery, but a few clues have been realized, painting a grisly picture for the crew who gave their lives in pursuit of discovery. We'll discuss possible theories, dive into AMC's miniseries "The Terror" and uncover the shocking details that make this 140-year-old mystery so haunting.
