If you're doubting your faith, you're in the right place because Truth Snack journeys with doubting Christians toward confident faith.
We're kicking off Season 2 by talking Natalie, someone I met this summer. We were working at a summer camp and she told me she was raised in a church that taught jewellery, make-up, and sports were all wrong. Our activities at camp that day happened to be... making bracelets, face-painting, and football!
I couldn't help but wonder how Natalie was able to question so much of what she was raised to believe while holding onto faith in Jesus. She calls her process "disentangling," and her minister, Berean Holiness, helps others do the same. Enjoy the conversation!
Find out more about Natalie's work at www.BereanHoliness.com.

Doubters Welcome - Knowing God's Will for Big Decisions - with Steph
play

05/01/23 • 26 min

Big life decisions can spark and intense seeking of God and his will. And when we hear nothing in response, it can make us wonder if God is with us (or there at all). Because of that, I knew I wanted to talk about "God's will" as part of this year's exploring of encounter with God.
When my friend, Steph, reached out to tell me a Truth Snack series had helped her while discerning God's will, I knew it was time to talk about it.
Truth Snack journeys with doubting Christians toward confident faith, so if you're doubting your faith, you're in the right place! I hope this episode can be a little truth snack to help you on your way.

Doubters Welcome - Can Deconstruction Be Good For Faith? - with Nate
play

03/15/23 • 35 min

This episode is a re-broadcast of my conversation with Nate Huff on his podcast, Coffee Conversations. If you’d like to hear more conversations on how disciples of Jesus can follow him every day, check out Coffee Conversations: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nate636

During our chat we talked specifically about deconstruction. What is it? Is it good or bad for faith? And how do we journey though it if we find ourselves deconstructing?
As always, if you have something to add, feel free to reach out to me at [email protected]. Enjoy!

How do we make sense of divine destruction in the Bible? What distortions do we bring to the Bible that make it hard to understand? If the Bible is so complicated, why follow Jesus?

In this episode I talk with my friend Jonny who is studying the Old Testament in pursuit of a PhD. In particular, he’s studying stories of divine destruction in the Old Testament— that’s right, he’s chosen to study the uncomfortable stories that can make us question God's goodness.
Jonny's perspective was insightful and challenging. I have no doubt this chat some wisdom to offer you on your journey through doubt. Enjoy!

Doubters Welcome - Discerning God's Voice - Pt. 3 with Wendy
play

01/23/23 • 35 min

I’m asking my mentors, "How do you discern God’s voice?" In this series, Truth Snack is exploring how encounters with God can anchor our faith during times of doubt.
In this chat I talk with Wendy, who is a professional counsellor, and really illustrated what it looks like to invite Jesus into the painful moments of our lives. If you want your conversations with God to go beyond exchanging information, and you want them to deepen into a rich relationship, this is a great episode for you! I’ve learned so much from Wendy and I hope you will too. Enjoy.

Recently I came across an article that laid out a 5-stage model of religious deconversion. I was surprised by how much I resonated with it! Why did I not lose my faith? I wanted to know more so today I'm talking to the author, Joel Furches.
I think Joel's research will help you make sense of the journey you're on and offer some hope for how you might journey toward faith again.
