Great British Film - We meet Murray Head, star of multi-award winning Sunday Bloody Sunday
04/17/22 • 80 min
Murray Head was suddenly thrust into the limelight in 1971 as he played the love interest for Peter Finch and Glenda Jackson's characters in the film Sunday Bloody Sunday. He had the role of a young bisexual man involved in an open love triangle with a gay Jewish doctor and a middle aged divorcee. The film saw a kiss between two men, only a few years after male homosexuality had been decriminalized in England and Wales. The movie was ground breaking and is still one of the few that has ever really tacked bisexuality. But did it do bisexual people justice? Could it have gone further? Murray turns the clock back more than 50 years to remember exactly how it all happened. He also touches on his musical career, musicals - and his other films including working with Hayley Mills and the late Hywell Bennett.
