8. A Much Needed Shopping Trip

After the shocking news delivered by Jinnabon and a long conversation between a few of the Spectacles and Iromae, the Disciples all return to their rooms for a night's rest. The next morning Vikros, Iromae, AD, and Magdar set out to do some shopping. The party is soon to travel further into the cold northern tundra, so their main goal is to get some cold-weather gear. Ikki has also requested some white dragon scales, which eventually leads them to a magic shop with a very interesting proprietor. He says he will give them the scales if they agree to bring the artisan to dinner at his abode that night.

7. Words From the Eight

Jinnabon's unexpected appearance receives a warm reception from the party. The news he brings, though, is less well-received. The king knows that someone has been stealing his power sources, so he has withdrawn his power. Our hunting for the star stones has reached its end. He also knows that we are alive, though he does not know it is us who stole the two stones. Also, Asmodeus has sent his daughter to rectify our continued existence.

Before he has to leave he tells us to seek out a strange man with golden eyes that no one can quite seem to remember and to ask him about the next key. The wizards are shocked afterward to hear there was a god in their halls. Iromae is pulled aside for a brief conversation to make sure that her story matches up with what they expect and she is surprised to learn that they more or less know exactly who she was, though they never directly say it.

The Disciples all return to their quarters in their own time for some rest before a day of preparation for their trek into the frozen north.

9. Dragon Scales and Dinner Tales

Ikki's big project only lacks some white dragon scales, but before they can be purchased, the shop owner wants to meet the artist. And so the party has been invited to dinner by the mysterious shopkeep. Iromae spends some time in the temple of Helm while Vikros and crew go to gather the rest of the party.

Things have been progressing between Linguini and McKayla, leading to Mike and Tim pulling the kid aside for two very different conversations.

Dinner that night quickly takes an unexpected turn as the party realizes this odd shopkeeper is much more than he appeared. And the friends he invited have surprises of their own for the party. The stakes for this job are a lot higher than they first appeared.
