We talk about the difficulty of diagnosis when it comes to Lupus, trying to put out the 'shame flame' and the benefits of a low G.I. diet!
By the way, the word 'Lupus' comes from the Latin word for 'Wolf' and is attributed to the thirteenth-century physician Rogerius, who used it to describe the erosive facial lesions sometimes associated with the condition that were reminiscent of a wolf's bite.
Disabilitea is a podcast exploring hidden and invisible disabilities and illnesses, discussed in a safe environment over a cup of tea.

"..Hands, shoulders, knees and toes.." - Lee Wilkinson
Fellow broadcaster and all-around funnyman, Lee Wilkinson discusses growing up with a mixture of Osteochondromata and Physical Achalasia.
Lee has a unique situation when it comes to the disability bracket, as he has ultimately lived some of his life being very 'visibly disabled' through time spent in a wheelchair but also has spent a lot of time out of the chair and in the 'invisible disability' category as well.
He was in fact even prevented from earning an international cap for England due to being deemed "not disabled enough"!
