Our latest destination takes us back down to Australia. Along a road that runs along the its southern coast. Built by soldiers that had returned from the War, these men literally built the road by hand. It took way longer then they thought, but was definitely essential.
Don't forget to check out The Story of the Road miniseries.
Our website has some great resources that you can now purchase from Bookshop.org, who focuses on independent bookstores.

Destination: History - Destination: Great Ocean Road
Transcript
Welcome to Destination: History, where we tackle interesting and fascinating places and take a stroll through the history behind them.
Today’s destination sees us along a road, quite a long road, but one with some of the best views you can find. Along the way we’ll learn about the local Indigenous people, the people who built the road, the people the road is dedicated too, and some of the natural formations that make the road the tourist hotspot it has turned out to be.
