Welcome back! This week we are discussing the South Fork Dam Failure and subsequent flooding of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. At the time of this disaster, it was the deadliest with over 2,000 lives lost. Damage in some areas was total with the only thing left being bedrock. This disaster spurred change and led to the creation of the American Red Cross, now one of the largest multi-national volunteer disaster response agencies in the world.
