Dennis & Julie

Dennis & Julie

Salem Podcast Network

Dennis Prager and Julie Hartman explore all aspects of life, in particular the crisis of American education. Julie was a student senior at Harvard who sensed that most of her life she was exposed to one perspective. She found Dennis Prager’s book “Still the Best Hope,” and she realized she actually held many conservative beliefs. She reached out to Dennis and that was the beginning of a new partnership that culminates in their weekly podcast.

Dennis & Julie - Dennis & Julie: The Middle East Problem
play

10/16/23 • 85 min

Dennis and Julie were deeply troubled by the developments between Israel and Hamas. The number of Israelis killed in the Hamas attack is the largest since the Nazis in the Holocaust. Dennis and Julie are baffled by groups that blame Israel for the conflict. The American Jew is disappearing. Israel is the canary in the world’s coal mine. We should be the most enlightened people to ever live... given our resources and technology ...and yet we may be the least enlightened. Wisdom and knowledge are not related. America must be strong... or the rest of the world is in danger. Is Biden to blame? The existence of evil is tough enough, but the moral confusion about it is only making things more difficult. You should never be a sheep. The silver lining of the horrific attack is ...there were 9-11 conservatives ...there may be 10-7 Zionists. Morally we are all two people – micro and macro.

Dennis & Julie - Dennis & Julie: Err is Human
play

12/05/22 • 91 min

Dennis and Julie delve into having fears. Julie discusses the launch of her new show Timeless and the unexpected amount of work it takes to do it. the workload. They also discuss making errors on air and Dennis’ bad memory when it comes to names. The news cycle is relentless – the ultimate soap opera, and to be a good host one must always stay in tune with it. Julie had a difficult time after becoming conservative publicly. A spider on set interrupts the show, which leads to a discussion about phobias, and ways to conquer a fear. Having a good people meter is a great way to discern meeting new people... for Dennis goodness is more important than intelligence. Dennis 101 is finding good people in life, and he often does it while traveling abroad. He explains “the star issue” and human natures. The topic then turns to black anger at whites, Jewish anger at Christians, and Leftist anger at the Right. Having an appreciation for religion makes life more profound and less daunting. Can the world exist without people’s belief in God? For Dennis the Left keeps Dennis religious and reinforces his belief. Julie shares her brief encounter with Hillary Clinton. Being nice is not the same as being good.

Dennis & Julie - Dennis & Julie: RIP Otto
play

05/01/23 • 93 min

Dennis and Sue’s beloved Otto died, and while Dennis laments society equating animals and humans... he reflects on this palpable loss. The experience made Dennis realize that people choose pain to live a fuller life. Thinking about one’s own death... helps one to live a fuller life. Inspired by G.K. Chesterton, Julie shares the significance of stories, fairy tales, and mythology... how they shape countries and individuals, and that sharing them helps to pass on values and teach connections with the past. We live in a society where unpleasant facts are not to be acknowledged. Topics include: the ear is deeper than the eye; the story of The Four Sons; Kamala Harris now believes in “climate anxiety”; Americans ...we have manufactured all our problems; confrontation ...how far do you go in private life exposing your values? As a public figure should you be private about your dating life; in what area of life do you strive to be excellent; For Goodness Sake – do people care about being a good person; dating dress codes; healthy honesty in the sexual realm.

Dennis & Julie - Dennis & Julie: Do The Should
play

09/27/22 • 75 min

Dennis and Julie delve into how real the show is...they both agree they must be the same person on and off the air. It’s not the actions that matter... it’s the intentions. God judges you is a more meaningful message than God loves you. It is also preferred that you fear God rather than loving God, when you fear God... you fear less. The Bible states that a person should fear their mother and father... in that order, for a reason. Julie has found that reading the Bible makes her calmer ...Dennis suggests it is because it keeps her in touch with the eternal. The best is the enemy of the better. You cannot judge people from the past by today’s standards. You’ve got to know history... one of the staples of Julie’s new show Timeless. A discussion of how tonal languages are much harder to learn leads Dennis’ to share a story of his street fight in Marrakech. Why does Dennis love language so much?! Dennis recommends The Story of Language by Mario Pei if you love language too. What makes Finnish, Albanian, and Hungarian languages different than all others? When you learn other languages, you improve your own. They debate their favorite words in the English language. Is it harder to convert a liberal or a Leftist?

Dennis & Julie - Numb to Evil

Numb to Evil

Dennis & Julie

play

06/16/24 • 77 min

Dennis and Julie discuss dignity and the pernicious nature of social media. They breakdown self-promotion versus the cancer of social media. There is too much needless posting and there are too many needless opinions. Parents, mostly mothers, are using their children on social media for fame and money... it’s child abuse. Pedophilia.... has social media exacerbated it? Polylogism is the belief that different people or groups have different forms of logic. Sharia law... is it all bad? Many value systems exist... moral clarity is paramount. The death of moral clarity will be the end of civilization. The media of the West are a bigger threat than any terrorist organization... they cause more damage. You must use reason and pursue truth at any cost. Cultural appropriation ... is it all bad? Can you live an electronic-less life? The desire to be an “influencer” ...does the yearning to be “important” drive the social media life? Being deep is more valuable than having fame.

Dennis & Julie - The Center of the Universe
play

07/21/24 • 75 min

Dennis is in Los Angeles and Julie is still in Europe. Dennis shares a bit about his trip to the Artic circle, and the differences between Greenland and Iceland. Wherever you are is the center of the world. People should not think that life is more meaningful if they live in an important or popular place. People in Nashville know more about New York than New Yorkers know about Nashville. We are made to have a meaningful life no matter where we are. Did you know the word catholic means the whole, or more colloquially, "universal." Christianity is progressive in the truest most noble sense. Pope Francis put it this way in his apostolic exhortation from 2013, Evangelii Gaudium, section 247: We hold the Jewish people in special regard because their covenant with God has never been revoked, for “the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable” (Rom 11:29). The Church, which shares with Jews an important part of the sacred Scriptures, looks upon the people of the covenant and their faith as one of the sacred roots of her own Christian identity (cf. Rom 11:16-18). As Christians, we cannot consider Judaism as a foreign religion. Other topics include: Judeo-Christianity versus secularism; secularism is a faded copy of the old religious doctrine; the covenant God has with the Jews; your actions on earth determine your destination after death; universalist and particularist is the ideal; proselytizing; Jonah.

Dennis & Julie - Dennis & Julie: Drawing the Line
play

09/18/23 • 75 min

Dennis talks about his recent travel experience. Julie’s undeveloped hypothesis... you can identify a Leftist by their appearance and attire. Dennis is the Godparent to a gay couple’s child... the conversation turns from gay marriage to the evolution from tolerance to endorse to celebrate. The Spanish soccer kiss scandal... it’s a sick time were living in. Whatever happened to shrugging it off? Julie’s theory on Republican clowns ...people taking on the characteristics of a stereotypical version portrayed by the opposition. Where do you draw the line between being respectfully quiet and sharing your objections? Dennis says you shape your conscience more than your conscience shapes what you do. A virtue taken to it’s extreme... becomes the opposite of that virtue – Machiavelli. Institutions need to be preserved or they will crumble... there is nothing beautiful that humans cannot destroy.
