Episode 69 - Damon Che - Yesness
Demonic Sweaters Podcast
09/24/24 • -1 min
Order "See You At The Solipsist Convention" By Yesness at https://www.joyfulnoiserecordings.com/products/see-you-at-the-solipsist-convention. This episode I am honored to interview one of my favorite drummers of all time, Damon Che Fitzgerald. He has a brand new band called Yesness with an album about to drop and being released by Joyful Noise Recordings https://www.joyfulnoiserecordings.com/, as well as a US tour planned for early 2025.
The unique duo Yesness, formed by Kristian Dunn (El Ten Eleven) and Damon Che (Don Caballero), came together through astute musical matchmaking. Within a year of their first virtual meeting, their nascent project’s debut record, See You at the Solipsist Convention, was complete. Scaffolded around eight-string bass, knotty percussion, and intricate syncopation, See You at the Solipsist Convention is a carnival of delights for fans of the post-everything persuasion—uncategorizable yet reverent to the altar of instrumental rock. Album opener “Not So Sorry Now Are You” begins as a static-drenched funk bop that blossoms into a sweeping epic.
Quotes:
Damon Che: Aped the double heart throb bass drum pattern from the drummer in my dad’s band I always admired when I was a teenager. I'm glad Kristian put the piano passage in this one. It takes me back to when music was classy without even trying.
Kristian Dunn: This is one of the first songs I decided to add a bit of piano to. The part is ridiculously simple but seems to add some gravitas and still leave plenty of room for Damon to do his thing!
Episode #58 - Two Terrible Options
Demonic Sweaters Podcast
06/29/24 • -1 min
As of June 28th 2024, The United States Of America has selected the two worst candidates in the history of the country to be the next president. Many people shutter at the thought of Donald Trump winning. But the man that is supposed to be able to beat him can't even string together a comprehensible sentence.

In this episode I go back in time to the late 80s and early 90s and talk about the band Lincoln that I played drums in, as well as the history of the band, and play some never before heard songs by the band. This ended up being longer than I anticipated, so I am breaking it up into two episodes. Episode 38 - iBook and Stuff
Demonic Sweaters Podcast

For episode 38 I decided to record and edit the whole show on my 2005 iBook G4 computer. I used audacity, and it worked just as it should. I talk about booting iBooks from USB and using Transmac to create a bootable mac disc on PC https://www.acutesystems.com/scrtm.htm and, I used Ben Collins' great instructions on working with Open Firmware http://ben-collins.blogspot.com/2010/08/booting-your-ibook-g4-from-usb-stick.html.
I also play some new music of mine, as well as the 90s Miami band Machete. I talk more about Aspartame poison and the Netflix true crime documentary, Abducted in Plain Sight. Then I talk about someone who has been inspiring me lately, Tom Bilyeu.
