The Guest was a movie that I was longing to see and always seemed to miss it when it was streaming. This year however the stars finally aligned and The Guest hit Netflix just when I needed it most. "A soldier introduces himself to the Peterson family, claiming to be a friend of their son who died in action. After the young man is welcomed into their home, a series of accidental deaths seem to be connected to his presence." Last week we took a look at the first draft for Resident Evil, the 2002 video game adaptation. This week I continue with the spooky season with a follow up of the second sequel script, Resident Evil Extinction. The script was originally titled Afterlife which would then become the title of the fourth film. Written By: Paul W. S. Anderson Logline: Survivors of the Raccoon City catastrophe travel across the Nevada desert, hoping to make it to Alaska. Alice joins the caravan and their fight against the evil Umbrella Corp. This past weekend was C2E2 in Chicago and I attended the show as press where I was able to sit for the Into the Badlands Season 3 panel. After the showing of the premiere episode I got to join the press pool as we fired questions at Executive producers Miles Millar, Alfred Gough, and Executive Producer/Actor Daniel Wu. Into the Badlands airs on AMC on 10/9c every Monday. This episode also features some extra plugs for some new friends. I recently made some friends in the writing community and offered up some free plugs on their work. Be sure to help support the little guy and check out their websites and offers. It's been a little while since the last episode. I took a break due to the birth of my first child! The show is back and guest Seth Decker returns to take a look at the sequel to the Ridley Scott Alien prequel Prometheus. This time we are looking at Alien: Covenant and shining a light on what may be a flawed film, but still manages to succeed as a Sci-Fi epic. Well with this episode we have officially reached the last episode of the year. Director Denis Villeneuve os already known as a powerhouse director with movies like Dune and Arrival under his belt, but one of his earlier movies often feels overlooked. Generally loved by most who have seen it, Prisoners just doesn't seem like it reached the huge audience it deserved. Today I sit down with former guest Brandon Prosek as we look at one of Denis Villeneuve's hidden crime masterpieces Prisoners. This is the first episode to make the case that not all underrated films are considered bad. Some popular movies just come, leave an impact, and then fade away over time. As is the case with this weeks guest Aerin Moriarty. Pride & Prejudice was a big hit in it's day but it's not a movie you hear much about in 2021, but that doesn't mean the love for the film has faded amongst it's fans. Aerin comes on the show to discuss the points of the way movies advertising can affect it's target audience and how perceptions of a genre can lead to misconceptions of enjoyment. Aerin is also the host of the Palette Cleanser Podcast and part of the Montressor Media family of entertainment.
