Qlik’s Joe DosSantos and Kirk Borne investigate the human impact of data literacy in the latest episode of Data Brilliant. Many people know and understand how data touches our lives every single day, from the TV shows that are recommended to us on streaming platforms based on our viewer history, to getting real time traffic updates via Google Maps as we have our way from A to B. Data undoubtedly plays an integral role in all of our lives.
This is why, as Joe and Kirk discuss throughout the episode, the need to read, work with and understand data goes beyond data scientists and is crucial for all members of society, but unfortunately many still lack the data literacy skills that could help them in the digital revolution we find ourselves in today.
Ultimately, enabling people across all parts of society are data literate not only benefits the health of individuals and organizations, but entire economies.
