The inauguration of a new president is an important day in a nation ... as it can shift the direction of a nation’s culture for better or for worse. In light of today’s presidential inauguration, Eric and Nathan discuss the lack of manliness in the modern culture and Church and why we need to inaugurate it back into our world and lives. In this episode, they describe true manliness is, why we need it, and most importantly, where we can find it (hint: it’s not from within ourselves but from THE Man, Jesus Christ). In this third life lesson, Eric and Nathan talk about the importance of waiting. As Christians we have the tendency to either rush faster than God is moving or never want to move from where we are at. The reality of the Christian life is that we must keep in stride with our Shepherd—it is only then, that we experience His protection, provision, and direction in our lives.

As Christians, we are called to live from and through the life of Christ. Because we have been crucified with Christ, we are no longer our own, for we have been bought with a price. As we start this new series examining “Life in the Word,” Nathan sets the foundation by talking about the importance of abiding and abounding in Jesus Christ.

In this eleventh episode in Eric’s series on Teddy Roosevelt, he shares the anatomy of the breakup of two wonderful friends. How can two men (Roosevelt and Taft) that have shared so much ideologically in common and have loved and cherished one another’s friendship for so long, suddenly let it all go? The same question can be asked of the Church today. When two are intended to walk together, it is a grievous thing to see them walk apart.

The entire Bible is a declaration of the Person and work of Jesus Christ; every page of Scripture points to the Author and His finished work upon the Cross. And we need a fresh revelation of Jesus from the Word. In this study, Nathan examines Luke 24 and how Jesus opened the Scriptures to two of His disciples, giving them “spiritual heartburn.” He not only talks about Jesus being the focus and fulfillment of all of Scripture, but our desperate need to experience heartburn as well.
