DAY SIX - Don't Make Others Feel Small, Santa shares Secrets About His Sleigh, New Streaming Service Elf Flix

Today we talk about

walking in someone else's shoes,

how to make others feel better about themselves,

we share a secret about Santa's Sleigh

Santa answers some messages from listeners

The Santa Daily News,

and a new streaming service, just for elves called - Elf Flix

Ok everyone, Santa has provided his suggested topic for today's show - Santa wants to remind us that we should always make others feel big, and never make people feel small.

Well Selfie, that is interesting - yes elves are small, and that makes you and the rest of the other amazing elves here at the north pole special.

For the adults and kids listening, making someone feel small is something that many people around the world do to each other - and it is really sad.

You can make someone feel small, or not important just by the way you treat them. We all remember the story of Rudolph - remember, he wasn't included in the games that his friends were playing - so he felt like he didn't belong, that his friends didn't want him to be apart of the group - he felt small, not like an elf small, just small or not as important as everyone else.

Some times people can be mean - they say or do things that don't include other people - sometimes, these people end up on Santa's naughty list and they don't even know that they are making others feel small.

We need to be gentle with others around us - our friends at school, brother or sister, adults and teachers, we should never treat someone in a way that makes them feel small - or another big person word is - insignificant or meaningless. Everyone is significant and full of meaning - even if they don't look like, act like, think like, play like or come from the same place that you do.

Santa wants us all to think about others first - to look at the world through their eyes, understand how they are different and unique - what makes them special.

to do this some people say that we should walk a mile in someone else's shoes - have you ever walked in someone else's shoes before selfie?

Put Yourself in the Other Person’s Shoes

When you are playing with your friends and they have an idea or a new way to do something - are you willing to listen and to try their way or does it always have to be your way? Sometimes their way might be better, or more fun - sometimes your way might be the best choice, but how will you know if you never listen to others and try their ideas - see the world as they see it and learn from others.

Let's look for ways to be more considerate of others

And that, is how you can stay on Santa's Nice list - it really does work.

What will you do today to make others big instead of making them feel little.

DAY TWENTY FOUR - It's Christmas Eve, Time to Celebrate You, Santa News and more!

Here we are on Day 24 of the Daily Santa Podcast

For the past 23 days we have put out a challenge - for you to do something that will add your name to Santa’s nice list,

We have even talked about what happens if you make a mistake - we all make mistakes! Yes, even Santa makes mistakes.

If you have tried even one of the 23 suggestions we offered here on the Daily Santa Podcast - congratulations!

Now it is time to celebrate! To celebrate you!

When we try something new, or learn a new thing, we need to stop and ask “What have we done to celebrate?”

Celebrating everyday is the goal for Day 24

Here are 5 simple ways to celebrate your every day.

1. Start Everyday with a Celebration.

Every day is a gift.

What are you thankful for? Your family? Your Pet Goldfish? Your friends?

When you begin your day with celebration, you will have more joy for the rest of your day.

2. Celebrate the small things

We shouldn’t only celebrate the big things

Little things matter! Right Selfie??

When we celebrate the little things in life that we did well, it makes us stronger.

If you start feeling like you are not getting better, celebrate all the awesome things that you do on a daily basis.

3. Celebrate Others

This tip has a double bonus—when you celebrate someone else, both of you feel awesome!

When you celebrate someone else for the little things, they feel valued

When you celebrate all the good things others do for you, it helps you appreciate others more and it helps others feel great too.

Now that’s a double win.

4. Do a big celebration

Sometimes you need to start a parade!

Someone has to lead the band down the street and kick this off

Don’t wait for someone else to celebrate something good

You start the party!

5. Celebrate before bed

Just as you begin every day in celebration, let’s end the day celebrating as well

Remember celebration is an attitude

Again, if you tried any of the tips we shared here on the Daily Santa Podcast - let’s celebrate!

We would love to hear from you

DAY TWENTY - Give First, Happy Hanukkah, Merry GIVE-mas, Santa news and more

Welcome to the podcast! We are on Day 20 - this is going by really fast!

Our topic today covers Giving to Others

Today we look at giving to others being a giving person is very special

Christmas can be a time of great excitement and mystery

We can't wait to see the gifts piled around the tree

We enjoy giving and receiving gifts

but what if there was a gift that did not come wrapped in a box with shiny christmas wrapping paper, no bow, and it didn't rattle around in the box when yo shook it?

Giving first before getting isn’t always easy us to understand when we are young.

When we give, we focus on others and today we are going to look at 4 ways that we can continue to be generous throughout the year.

1. The Joy of Giving

can you be just as happy giving a gift this year as you are receiving one?

when we find joy in giving we unlock joy in our lives

giving to others is not just a one day christmas event - it can be everyday

2. Share your Talents

Giving doesn't always require money, a store or a purchase - you can give something that nobody else can give - you are unique and special.

what is one thing you are awesome at doing - play the piano, write a poem? Be creative - because giving does not always cost money

3. Generous with Time

We love to do, what we love to do

when we put away the things that we want to do - like our phones, tablets and gaming - we create time for others

time is valuable because they don't make more of it

who can you give more of your time to?

4. Generous with Kindness

Be generous and kind with your words

your words can make people strong or weak

give back to others by building them up and making others around you important

Let's give our best this year, even if it does not come from a store

DAY THIRTEEN - Be Positive, Selfie's New Toy, Santa News and Facts

Selfie plays with his new Elf-Alexa, we look at how we can be more positive, check out our Christmas Song Choices this year and much more!

Here are four ways that we can be more positive:

  • Always Give Your Best Effort – If we give our best effort in all that we do and think we will be able to realize what they are truly capable of. Trying hard can lead to more confidence, and help us to develop a positive attitude about the world around us
  • Give Back To Your Community – Volunteering as a family can help us to connect with others. Even activities as simple as helping others, spending time with someone that is lonely or giving to people in need, these acts help us to focus on our community Our actions can make a positive difference in the world, buy helping others we will be more positive about who we are, and about our community.
  • Practice Positive Self-Talk – We need to use gentle words when talking to others. A great way to develop this skill is to talk to ourselves as if we were talking to our best friend. If we wouldn’t say something mean to our best friend or loved one, we shouldn’t say it to ourselves. The way we think directly impacts our behavior and feelings about the world. If we can think positively about ourselves, we will likely feel the same way about the world around us.
  • Take Ownership & Responsibility For our Actions – We all need to realize that we have control over the outcomes of the challenges that we face. Reducing anxiety and practicing problem-solving skills at a young age can have a huge effect on how we think and act for the rest of our lives. Being confident is one of the best ways to help encourage positive thinking.

DAY TEN - Be Patient and Wait Your Turn, Santa's Doctor Visits, News and Fun Podcast Suggestions

Welcome to Day Ten everyone! We hope this has been elftastic fun for you so far!

Candy Cane Cookies have arrived, or have they gone missing? We are going to talk about patience, but you will have to wait for it!

Doctor Wait, Santa's family Doctor drops in with some great advice for us at this busy time of the year!

Patience is a skill. And like all skills, patience can be learned.

Just like learning to walk, ride a bike or playing a piano

We can learn patience, and get better at being patient as we work on it

The best way to learn patience is to practice patience

Patience is not simply the ability to wait. It’s how we behave while we’re waiting.

Here are 4 things to consider about patience - talk about these things with your family to see how you can add these to your day

ONE - When learning patience, start small

just like learning anything, you will not be great at something if you never try

little babies are not very patient - when they want something, they want it right now!

we have to learn patience - that is a lot of work

TWO - We have to learn how to wait for what we want

We need to take turns, allow someone to go first, put someone else ahead of us

THREE - realize that being patient is hard work

We wait for a bus, wait for dinner, wait for our friend to catch up, we do a lot of waiting

FOUR - learning patience is not just for adults

when we start learning and practicing patience as a child, we will use what we learn as an adult

it is no fun to be asked to wait for our turn, but if we can learn how to wait, we will see it pay off in the future

So I told you to wait to find out what patience was, didn't I...

do you know, that waiting to hear what patience is, that waiting to the end to find out what it is was actually being patient?

Patience is simply being calm, realizing that there are other people involved and allowing others time and space

at this busy time of year there is very little patience, honking car horns, pushing and shoving, angry responses to people in our way, or doing things that make our day worse - those are the people that need patience

Remember you have to learn it patience is not free!

See you tomorrow!

We would love to hear form you!!

DAY FOURTEEN - Be Creative, Meet the Elf DJ, Santa Question and Message, Selfie Loves Elf Tube

We share our podcast studio with the morning drive DJ - he drops by during our podcast to see what we are up to! Selfie tries "Elf Tube" - did you know there are tiny elf cats? Apparently there are - we didn't believe it either!

We answer more Santa Questions on today's episode

We also look at being creative

6 Ways to become more creative

Being creative allows us to be more flexible and become better problem solvers. When you can solve problems you are able to help others at the same time!

1. Allow time to dream and wonder

One of the main ways to become creative is to wonder. Like why is the sky blue? Why does the ocean water have waves and not the water in lakes or ponds? How does gravity work? And so on. Find the answer to what you are curious about - this is a great way to be a better student - you will learn many things if you never stop wondering!

2. Share what you learn

Some kids are awesome at music, some kids are great playing sports, or reading, maybe math is your superpower! Help those around you that might not be great at the piano, or can run as fast as you, help your friend read better, or show your classmate how to understand a math problem. If you learn and do not share, you are not helping others!

3. There is more than one way to Solve Every Problem

There are multiple ways to solve a problem and also different perspectives to look at everything. Be open to others, how they do things, how they think - you can learn a lot from others around you

4. Be Curious

We are born curious. When you are thirsty you get a drink of water, when you are curious you fill up your knowledge tanks with information that will help you for the rest of your life!

5. Read for fun

Limit TV or other screen time of your kids to make room for creative hobbies like reading as it encourages thought activity which in turn promotes creativity. If you can read for fun and not because you have to, you will fall in love with books

6. Try something new

Try something new - something that you have never done, you might find that you could unlock a fun new activity, sport or hobby that you would have never known about if you had not tried it for the first time

Being creative is very important - it helps us to think big, accept others and their differences and become a better person

Be creative today - try something new!

DAY FIFTEEN - Self Image - Christmas Traditions, A Special Call, News, and more

If you are going to be nice to others you need to be nice to yourself!

Who do you see when you look in the mirror?

Today is all about liking the person you see in the mirror we have special homework for you to do here on Day 15!

Are you up for the challenge?

Here is more about our topic...

Creating a Positive Self-Image

What is self-image? Self-image is the personal view, or mental picture, that we have of ourselves.

Self-image are the words that describe the who we are, including such things as intelligent, beautiful, ugly, talented, and kind.

The image we see in the mirror may be a real or fake view of who we really are.

Based on this view, we develop either a good or bad self-image.

A good self image shows us what we do well and what we can do better.

A bad self image only looks at the things that we do not like when we look in the mirror

How we think and feel about ourselves affects those around us How can we create a positive self-image?

Self-image is not permanent. A healthy self-image starts with learning to accept and love ourselves.

It also means being accepted and loved by others. How to develop a positive self-image

Has someone given you a label? Is it good or bad? Make a list of your positive qualities. Ask significant others to add to that list Don't compare yourself to others what are you good at? Love yourself - you are special, there is no one like you you are unique Here is something that we want you to do today.

Get a piece of paper and a marker or a pencil write down something about you that makes you smile I am smart, I can ride a bike, I can play the piano, I am a good friend, I take care of my dog, I love people, I am special, I make people smile, I am silly, I give great hugs

Write down something about yourself and then stick that message on a mirror in your home. Every time you look at the mirror, read that note out loud - every time see it, say it and hear it - over and over and over you are unique, special and important there is only one you in this entire world.

That makes you special - you are special see it, say it and hear it will you try this today?

Ask your parents to help you - try it and see what happens!

DAY SEVENTEEN - Show Love, Selfie Talks about his family, Twinkle takes us for a walk, news and more

Feel the love in this episode! We love creating this podcast just for you!

We wanted to show you that showing love can impact others around you and make you a nicer person

We share Five Ways to Express Love

Gifts - Some people express and feel love through gift-giving. Giving flowers, clothes, a favorite treat, or a handmade item is one way people demonstrate that they are thinking about you.

Acts - Another way to express love is to do something kind or helpful for another person. By doing a chore or making a meal for your loved one, you can show them that they are important to you.

Time. - Spending quality time together is also an expression of love. When a person gives you their undivided attention, or makes time to take a walk or do another activity together, they are expressing that you are a priority in their life.

Touch - Love can be expressed through physical affection. Holding hands and sitting with the one you love!

Words - Some people feel and demonstrate love through words. Giving compliments and encouragement, saying “I love you,” and leaving notes of affection and appreciation are all ways of letting people know how much they mean to you.

12/18/24 • 21 min

DAY EIGHTEEN - Forgive Others, A Post Turtle, Selfie's Story , North Pole news and more

Welcome back to Day 18! Today we look at forgiveness - why it is important for all of us to forgive others!

Selfie shares a story about a carrot and a lie

We find out what a Post Turtle is and we look at our topic of forgiveness by talking about...

10 Ways to to Forgive others

1. Forgiveness with no conditions

forgive regardless of the other person’s response - forgiving someone for what they have done or said is more for us than for them really - we stop letting what they have done hurt us when we forgive and let it go

2. It’s Not About Being Right

When you forgive someone, it should never be about being right.

3 No rules

By placing rules on our forgiveness, we are not truly forgiving.

“If you make my bed for the next week I will forgive you.”

That’s not forgiveness.

Forgiveness is given without rules or conditions.

4. It might take time

forgiveness can't be forced.

when it forced, we really don’t mean it, nothing gets solved.

Give it time.

5. there are always 2 sides to forgiveness

We really only see our side of an issue.

We need to be able to see things from the other side.

Our side is only part of the story.

Forgiving is much easier when we know the whole story and not just half of it.

6. Don’t hide forgiveness

when we don't forgive, it can lead to all sorts of future problems.

we start to not like people that we haven't forgiven

we see someone that we haven't forgiven and we turn and walk the other way - we don't even want to see them, or talk to them, ever again.

this can be painful for you and the other person

Forgiveness is like a bridge that connects two people that have been separated

7. The Inside Eventually Comes Pouring Out

when we don't forgive people it can change us and make us not a fun person to be around - we become part of the problem over time

8. Teach Them To Serve

Giving forgiveness helps us to be humble and not proud.

be mindful of the needs of others.

9. The Golden Rule

“Treat others as we wish to be treated ourselves.”

what if we made a mistake and dis something wrong - how would we want the other person to treat us? Would we want their forgiveness if we made the mistake?

however we want to be treated, we need to treat people in the same way

10. forgiveness doesn't Keeping score

we all want to be forgiven. Then tell them to do likewise.

Forgiveness is not like sports

In sports we keep score of the points - we put the score up on the board so that all can see

Some people keep score of all the bad things that other people have done and do not forgive and let it go! When we throw away the bad thing that happened, it means we don’t remind the person again that they did it. It means we start over.

Our homework today - to think of one person that we need to forgive and then tell them that we forgive them

forgiveness is a great way to stay on Santa's nice list.
