“We may not always understand God, but we should desire to know Him more” - Wesleyne

There are many things we don’t understand about how God does things and in this life in general. Therefore, asking questions is a natural response when we are faced with unexpected circumstances. Going before God, the Author of Life, with our questions and concerns, is, of course, not wrong.

Today, you will learn that instead of letting your curiosity affect your relationship with God, it’s better to leverage it to build your faith in Him and realize your limitations (humility), show your deep cares and struggles (honesty), reveal your curiosity and desire to learn more (hunger), and express your aspiration and expectation (hope and faith).

“God turned these horrible valley moments into good” - Wesleyne

This episode of Daily Love Letters from God poignantly narrates a journey of discovery, where bitter goodbyes transform into life-altering revelations. Wesleyne delineates a series of heartbreaking departures, from educational aspirations to personal losses, painting a picture of a life marked by profound change and heartache. However, it's in the reframing of these goodbyes, or rather "Godbyes" as she terms them, that the narrative shifts from loss to growth. Instead of viewing them as abrupt endings or painful rejections, they are redefined as divine interventions, guiding her to her true purpose and bringing about the needed metamorphosis in her life.

Today, you will absorb a profound lesson about perspective and resilience. Life is replete with adversities and unforeseen events that can easily be perceived as setbacks or tragedies. However, when one adopts a wider lens, viewing these situations as part of a grander divine design, they transform into stepping stones towards self-discovery, growth, and eventually healing.

The shift from "goodbye" to "Godbye" signifies a belief in a higher purpose, where challenges and setbacks are God's way of rerouting you towards your destined path. This outlook encourages acceptance, introspection, and growth. Embracing the concept of "Godbye" teaches you that in every adversity lies an opportunity: an opportunity to learn, to empathize, and most importantly, to shine even brighter amidst the shadows.

Daily Love Letters from God - Why and How to Honor God

“When we honor God by the way we live and how we speak about Him, we give people on earth a glimpse of heaven” - Wesleyne

One of the most well-known verses from the Bible is probably Psalms 29: 1 to 2. Right? The command about honoring God has been conspicuously inscribed on magnets, plaques, mugs, note cards, shirts, and bumper stickers. It has also made it into numerous books, blogs, articles, religious podcasts, and many other publications. And that’s awesome. It’s important that we keep that word of God in the forefront of our minds.

But there’s also a potential snare with this verse being so familiar. That is, we can start to assume we fully understand it, even if we don’t. And today, we will be reminded why, and how, we must always take the time to consider what we should be doing to implement this command.

“Don’t beat yourself up when you’re having a bad day” - Wesleyne

1st Kings 19:4:

Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.”

Life often presents us with challenges and obstacles that leave us feeling overwhelmed and weary. We may find ourselves at a point where our spirits are low and our strength seems to wane. Just like the prophet Elijah in his moment of despair, we might be tempted to seek solace in isolation, retreating from the world around us. However, let us remember that even in our darkest moments, we are never truly alone. The same God who heard Elijah's cry is the same God who hears our cries today.

Today, you will be reminded that in your journey, it is essential to realize that your strength is not solely derived from your own abilities or circumstances. True strength comes from God, who stands by us and offers us comfort and renewal when we need it the most. It is in our weakness that His strength is made perfect. In moments of weariness, don’t withdraw or isolate yourself, but instead, turn to your Heavenly Father. Seek solace in His presence, knowing that His love and grace are more than sufficient to lift you up, breathe new life into your weary souls, and empower you to face the challenges ahead. Trust in the Lord, for He is the source of our strength and the sustainer of our lives.

“It’s important that we place ourselves under the umbrella of God’s protection and do His will instead of following selfish desires” - Wesleyne

2 Samuel 11:1:

In the spring of the year, when kings normally go out to war, David sent Joab and the Israelite army to fight the Ammonites. They destroyed the Ammonite army and laid siege to the city of Rabbah. However, David stayed behind in Jerusalem.

This verse sets the stage for a critical chapter in David's life, marking a moment of significant departure from duty. During the time when kings were typically leading their troops into battle, David delegates this responsibility to Joab and stays behind in the comforts of Jerusalem. His absence from the battlefield becomes a pivotal decision that leads to a series of profound moral failures. Today, you will learn the importance of fulfilling your role and the dangers of complacency in leadership. David's decision to remain in Jerusalem, a deviation from the expected conduct of a king, allows for a lapse in his moral judgment.

His remaining idle and neglectful of his duties provides an opportunity for sin and misdirection to take root. This serves as a powerful lesson that no matter our station in life, adhering to our responsibilities and maintaining our integrity is essential. When you stray from your obligations, even in seemingly inconsequential ways, you risk opening yourself to greater temptations and moral failures. It underscores the importance of vigilance and commitment to one's duties and the moral principles that guide us.

“You are appointed to live on earth for such a time as this in order to represent the king to the world around you” - Wesleyne

Millions of people all over the world were glued to their televisions to watch the glamorous wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. We were all amazed by her dress and beheld the royal procession. The beauty of the ceremony was breathtaking, and the notion of an unlikely maiden becoming royalty is a fairy tale we all love to hear.

That magnificent image of a dashing bride runs parallel to the life of another royal woman in the Bible who was altogether lovely in form and feature. Her Hebrew name was Hadassah, but many knew her as Esther. Today, we will learn how the story of Esther’s rise to royalty can teach us a great deal about our own royalty in Christ.

“Just because we have trials and tribulations, doesn’t mean that God is not working with us” - Wesleyne

Daniel 6:19 to 22:

Very early the next morning, the king got up and hurried out to the lions’ den. When he got there, he called out in anguish, “Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you serve so faithfully, able to rescue you from the lions?” Daniel answered, “Long live the king! My God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty.”

In this verse, we encounter the gripping climax of the story where Daniel, having been thrown into the lions' den because of his faithfulness to God, is visited by King Darius the next morning. The verse is poignant, highlighting the suspense and hope that intertwines with faith. The genuine concern of King Darius, a non-Israelite ruler, showcases the profound impact of Daniel's unwavering faith not just on himself but on those around him, including those in positions of immense power. Today, you will learn about the power of genuine, unwavering faith. Despite facing certain death, Daniel's trust in God did not waver. This faith was not only recognized by God but was also evident to those around him, teaching us that true faith can be a testimony to both believers and non-believers alike.

You will also learn about God's ability to deliver and protect those who are faithful to Him. While the narrative revolves around a miraculous intervention, the underlying message is timeless: God stands with those who stand with Him, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable adversity. Daniel's response to the king underscores the importance of integrity. Daniel was saved not just because of his faith but because he was "found innocent" before God and had done no wrong before the king. This serves as a powerful reminder that faith and righteous living, when combined, lead to divine favor and protection.

“As you feel that someone or something is set up to hurt you or harm you, forgive and submit fully to God, and you will start seeing that the enemy meant for evil, God meant for God“ - Wesleyne

Genesis 50:20:

You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.

This verse comes from the lips of Joseph, who had been sold into slavery by his envious brothers, only to rise to power in Egypt and be in a position to aid them during a time of famine. Here, Joseph recognizes the paradox of human intent and divine purpose. While his brothers had meant harm by their actions, God transformed that adversity into an opportunity. Joseph's journey through betrayal, slavery, imprisonment, and finally to power was not merely a tale of personal vindication, but a larger narrative where God's providential hand would save many lives.

Today, you will learn about the overarching theme of God's sovereignty and His ability to turn malevolent intents into blessings. The verse teaches that even in the midst of deep suffering and apparent setbacks, God's purposes can be at work, molding situations for greater good. Joseph's perspective, as revealed in this verse, is one of forgiveness, understanding, and recognizing the larger picture of divine providence. This verse encourages believers to view trials and tribulations not merely as isolated incidents of hardship but as potential conduits for God's grace and purpose to unfold.

“Our gifts from God are grace, unmerited favor so if God is giving us grace we should give ourself grace. We should realize that we’re not perfect” - Wesleyne

Word of Today - Galatians 1

This Chapter sets the tone for the entire epistle, as Paul addresses the churches in Galatia with a mix of astonishment and concern. He quickly moves past the customary greetings to express his bewilderment at how swiftly the Galatians are deserting the gospel they originally received for a different gospel, which is no gospel at all. Paul emphasizes that the gospel he preached is not of human origin but was received through a revelation of Jesus Christ. This introduction starkly highlights the seriousness of the situation in Galatia, where false teachings are threatening to distort the gospel of Christ. The chapter serves as a robust defense of Paul's apostolic authority and the divine origin of his message, underscoring the critical nature of adhering to the true gospel.

From Galatians Chapter 1, you’ll learn about the paramount importance of fidelity to the true gospel and the dangers of deviating from it. Paul's strong response to the Galatians' flirtation with a different gospel underscores the non-negotiable nature of the gospel's core truths. This chapter teaches you that the gospel is not a human invention, subject to alterations and adaptations, but a divine revelation that demands full acceptance and adherence. Paul's personal testimony about his dramatic conversion and call to apostleship further reinforces the idea that the true gospel has the power to transform lives radically. The chapter challenges you to critically evaluate the messages you accept and uphold, reminding you of the gospel's purity and the grave consequences of compromising its integrity. Through Paul's example, you are encouraged to defend the gospel with courage and clarity, ensuring that its transformative power remains unblemished by false teachings or human traditions.
