For much of my life, I was brought up in an environment where the phrase “follow the child” is the guiding principle. While there are many approaches to how one can navigate the waters of raising a child, the one we have stuck with here in our household is a Montessori approach.

Today we’re talking about what the meaning is behind a Montessori education and how adopting this philosophy can help to answer the age-old question of nature versus nurture.

Dads Cry Too - Entry #12 - Let's Pause and Be Grateful
play

12/22/23 • 5 min

As we approach the end of the year, it's time to kick back, reflect, and bask in the warm glow of gratitude.

This will be the last episode for the year and then I’m going to take a much-needed break. When I return, I’ll be coming back with a brand new take on sharing support for parents and I cannot wait to bring it to your ears.

Until then, today, we're diving into the heart of the matter - being thankful as a parent.

I figure that if I can change diapers, any father can. Of course, we seem to be living in a new age of fatherhood, when men do chores their fathers once avoided. Still, I’m sure there are fathers out there who are squeamish when it comes to diapers, particularly “poopies.”

My guest this week is the wonderful Simone Davies. Simone Davies is a Montessori expert and advocate for gentle parenting. With over 15 years of experience in early childhood education, Simone is passionate about helping parents raise happy, confident, and capable children.
