On Curious Conversations, Emma and Xavier are excited to have conversations with adults and kids from all walks of life to learn about their passions and what inspires them. Ever wondered what drives an artist's creativity or fuels an entrepreneur's ambition? Well, wonder no more! We'll be chatting with the best of the best, from entrepreneurs to educators, athletes to artists, and beyond. What qualifies them to host a podcast? Well, first, Emma and Xavier love to ask questions! They also have over a decade of experience being kids and having a point of view on many topics. Emma and Xavier hope you will join them on their journey because when you're curious, every conversation is an adventure!

Join us as we travel around the world in 37 minutes with Emelie Cheng Pollard and her daughter Ania. It’s an interview of firsts! Our first international interview and our first mother / daughter interview.
Emelie is a Canadian who now makes Stockholm, Sweden her home with her family. She is a graphic designer and is currently an art director with the kids department at H&M. We learn what a graphic designer is and what they do!
Emelie is interested in all things design-related but also enjoys cooking, photography, travel writing, and being out in nature – but her biggest passion is definitely travelling!
We had fun talking with Emelie and Ania in the same interview. Listen to Ania’s perspectives on what her Mom’s job is, the differences between living in Canada and Sweden and her many travel recommendations!
Together, Emelie and Ania share their travel stories which take us all over the world from Canada to Europe, Asia, India, Pakistan, Scandinavia, the Faroe Islands and so much more.
We also talk about our favourite museums, amusement parks, travel bucket lists and more. As school starts, join us for a world wide field trip which we hope will inspire your future travel adventures!

Do you love outer space? Have you ever wondered where the Earth’s water comes from or how planets die? These are just some of the questions we ask our guest today, Sean Raymond.
Sean is a science fiction-loving astrophysicist who likes blending imagination with science. Sean received his Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of Washington, Seattle and is currently living in Bordeaux, France doing research at the Observatoire de Bordeaux. Today we learn more about what an astrophysicist does. Here is a hint, one of the most important parts of his job is asking questions.
We even learn what the Vomit Comet is and for fun we throw in a little conversation about ultimate frisbee.
Sean is also an authour and recently published a book of Dr. Seuss-style astronomy poems which helps all of us who are not astrophysicists understand the universe a little bit better.

We were so excited to talk about Synthesis and so much more with Ana, or Ms. Fab as her students call her.
We learn about Ana’s journey from being a teacher in a traditional classroom to quitting that job to pursuing her passion for asking questions and thinking about education in a new way, which led her to Synthesis.
There are so many different ways to learn and we talk about many of them. Including the challenges of a traditional classroom, micro school, forest school, the Montessori Method, International Baccalaureate learning and more. Plus, Ana shares with us her ideal school day, and it’s not at all what you think!
