The guys also go over their biggest takeaways from the Cubs first month of play. Both of them agree that the offense has been better than expected, but the bullpen hasn't been as good as expected. Kap wonders if Jed will actually look to add to the bullpen if the team keeps playing well. Aroldis Chapman will most likely be available again at this trade deadline. Will Jed want to give away the assets to aquire him?
Kap still wants to know when the Cubs will bring up Matt Mervis. Kap says, if he's ready, he should be here. Gordon thinks the Cubs have to at least be thinking about Mervis up. But he also knows the Cubs will take their time making that decision.
The guys also discuss the impact Yan Gomes has had on the team and whether the Cubs will struggle without him. On the other hand, Miguel Amaya finally gets the call to the bigs. How long will he be here?
