WHO Pandemic Treaty Fails; World Waits on Trump Trial Results

Crossroads with Joshua Philipp
The World Health Organization’s (WHO) pandemic treaty has officially failed to pass. The controversial international treaty would have empowered the WHO to have deeper influence over global health policy. Yet, despite it failing to pass, top members of the WHO noted at the World Health Assembly that they don’t see this as an end. Various officials commented that they may have a deal within the next year or two. In other news, a verdict is expected in the New York case against former President Donald Trump, and the judge has issued a ruling that could make a guilty verdict easier. Justice Juan Merchan has ruled that the jury does not need to unanimously agree on what predicate crime Trump may have committed. In this live Q&A with Crossroads host Joshua Philipp we’ll discuss these topics and others, and answer questions from the audience. “More than 90 percent of our military bases are completely dependent upon the civilian electric grid.” The electric grid is of vital importance to the national security of the United States, and according to Tommy Waller, president of the Center for Security Policy, foreign adversaries have been attempting to attack the grid in order to subdue the United States without actually fighting. We speak to him about how serious foreign threats to the grid are, how efforts to enhance grid security have been hampered by “regulatory capture,” and tangible actions we can take to protect the grid. Last Arguments Given in Trump’s NY Trial; Case Against Hunter Biden Nears

The closing arguments are in for former President Donald Trump’s legal case in New York City. President Trump spoke to the press before the trial, where he maintained his position that the case is politically motivated. His team argued that prosecutors didn’t meet the burden of proof, while the prosecutors claimed there is a mountain of evidence. The outcome likely won’t be the end, though. A guilty verdict will likely be hit with a swift appeal, and President Trump will still have to face his three other legal cases. As this takes place, President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, is also getting ready for trial over his firearms charge. And as this looms, new information is emerging about his father’s alleged ties in his business deals. In this live Q&A with Crossroads host Joshua Philipp, we’ll discuss these topics and others, and answer questions from the audience.
