Guest Bio:

The people I work with are already very successful. They are top in sales, run companies, lead divisions and execute on big visions. A common thread is that they know they could do so much more if they could just focus. Life’s demands, day-to-day business, and the ability to keep to clear priorities slow their march to the next level.

Each engagement is tailored to the individual or group:

Vision – We will get very specific and clear on what you want to create.

Strategy – Here we focus on what it will take to achieve this vision, making adjustments in real-time.

Skills/Resources – What do you (and your team) need in order to get where you want to go?

Mindset – Most often the barrier to success is our self. Together we will uncover blind spots, limiting beliefs, and the edge of your leadership to clear the path to your goal or vision.

Action Plan- The clear road map for you and your team to achieve your vision.

What you can expect:

After working with me you will more effectively direct your valuable time and attention to get beyond where even you thought you could go.

  • Increased effectiveness by taking the right actions
  • Increased confidence and quality in your decision making
  • Dramatically transform limiting behaviors and habits that hold you back
  • Uplevel to a more impactful and meaningful leadership style
  • Elevate your day (your focus) from “Tactical” to “Strategic”
  • Transform team dynamics and develop direct reports
  • Build your personal brand
  • Address challenges in more innovative ways
  • Communicate more directly and with more influence
  • Increase sales and grow your business

As a Sales Leader, I generated over $90 Million in Revenue at some of the fastest-growing companies like NetApp, VMWare, EMC and Service Now. My clients benefit from my vast experience working with CEO’s and Senior Leaders because I know their world. I coach and consult successful individuals in focusing and delivering what is most important in their business and life.

Recently my insatiable appetite for all things music, pop culture and media led to co-founding Double Elvis Productions. We develop and produce original podcasts and have established partnerships with key media and technology companies to ensure broad distribution, marketing, and audience development. Our properties begin in audio and expand to events, merchandise, print, film, and television. In my previous role as EVP, Growth & Innovation at GYK Antler & Big Brick Productions, a 90+ person independent marketing agency and production company, I led business development efforts and provided strategic guidance for partners across a wide range of industries. In Episode #013 of CrisisCast 2020 | Chris Colbert

Today on CrisisCast 2020... An innovator, business leader, author, and international speaker. Chris Colbert talks about why what was socially unacceptable last month is fine now. A hope for a new minimum wage, intimacy, finding the upside, fun in the kitchen, the power of a blank piece of paper, and learning to embrace the value of moments in time. Enjoy this therapeutic conversation.

My Guest:

Chris Colbert has helped build and run several domestic and international companies focused on innovation and business optimization. After leading a bold revamp of Scholastic’s core publishing business and its return to positive growth, he left in early 2014 to explore the world of higher education and innovations that might help improve its price/value. That led him to the Harvard Innovation Labs, where he served as Managing Director for four years. In 2019 he left to found one-eighty, a global innovation firm focused on helping countries and companies better compete by creating adaptive learning systems that yield cultures of innovation. He is first and foremost an innovator, capable of finding simple solutions to complex problems while painting a compelling picture for any organization of its unrealized potential.

Chris is an author, recently publishing This Is It, a provocative treatise on how to take advantage of the only life we get, as well as an inspirational speaker and a strategic advisor to several CEOs and their executive teams. He received a BA from Connecticut College, an International MBA from Duke's Fuqua School of Business and sits on several boards including Pillar Venture Capital, Now + There, Fintech Americas, Nilus, and the Copenhagen Fintech Global Advisory Board.

From her home in Chicago - Shelley Paxton.

After 26 years in the corporate world where her last position was Chief Marketing Officer at Harley Davidson... To the shock of her family friends and coworkers She left and went on her Soulbbatical (have no fear this term is fully explained). Shelley has gone on to become a coach, an author, and has truly started her life all over again. Along with the health crisis, Black Lives Matter is now at the forefront of our lives and the conversation. I was so grateful to Shelley for speaking with me about the deep work she is doing, how she plans to be part of the solution, and books we need to read. We’re so proud to be publishing her new podcast Rebel Souls - coming in August. Here’s just a sample of the treat your ears have in store.

My Guest

Authenticity is the truest form of rebellion. What are you rebelling for? At the height of my 26-year career as an accomplished marketing executive and global brand leader – having become CMO of Harley-freaking-Davidson – I discovered that the view from the top of the corporate ladder lacked the fulfillment I expected. In fact, it was taking the joy out of my life—and the life out of me. I had been playing by someone else’s rules for so long that I didn’t even realize what I'd lost: a connection to my own soul. It would take a couple years, several international flights, and innumerable moments of self-reflection to regain my deepest, truest sense of self. It took a full blown Soulbbatical to get reacquainted with my purpose: to teach people how to rebel for who they are, what they want, and the impact they want to have in the world. I’ve reached a point in my life where I’ve realized that to rebel against something—the establishment, the rules, the red tape—isn’t nearly as productive, meaningful or fulfilling as rebelling for something. I started Soulbbatical, the company, with the mission to liberate the souls of leaders and organizations by inspiring them to realize (and rebel for) their greatest purpose, possibility, and impact. As an ICF-certified professional coach, I work with executives at Fortune 100 companies as well as fellow rebel soul individuals and entrepreneurs. I’ve trained with some of the top teachers in the world, including Brené Brown, researcher and five-time New York Times bestselling author, and Rich Litvin, master coach and author of The Prosperous Coach. I wrote Soulbbatical: A Corporate Rebel’s Guide to Finding Your Best Life (published by Simon & Schuster in January 2020) as a manifesto on breaking free from the traditional shoulds and should-nots of life and leadership. It’s about rewriting the script of success—personally and professionally. It’s not the six-figure salary and corner office. It’s not external validation. Success is radical self-commitment – giving yourself permission to be YOU. It’s saying yes to what serves you and no to what doesn’t. It’s carving your own path. It’s becoming success-FULL instead of success-EMPTY. If you’d like to hire me for coaching or book me to speak, email me at [email protected] or InMail me. Graduated from Boston College with a B.S. in Marketing, from the Harvard Business School Executive Education Program (with Omnicom University), and from the iPEC Coaching Program. I’m also a Certified Dare to LeadTM Facilitator.

In Episode #006 of CrisisCast 2020 | Escaping NYC and Flying the Flag For Women with Helen Appleby from The Unwritten Rules Of Women’s Leadership

Today On CrisisCast 2020 - A Brit escapes Manhattan at the peak of the pandemic, drives 13 hours and self isolates with their kids in an Air B’n’B. Despite all of this, Helen Appleby continues to lead and is starting to think seriously about how she will continue to fly the flag for the female workforce, as data shows... This crisis will disproportionately and negatively affect women. Sitting on a box in an unfurnished house in South Carolina. I give you the wisdom from an always lovely, very wise and grateful Helen Appleby.

Discover...

  • How the pandemic has affected Helen’s life in the heart of New York City • Helen’s thoughts on how the pandemic will affect businesses and women in business • Why what great leaders do now matters for the future

Helen’s Bio:

I work with CEO's and senior leaders to grow their leadership style, build high performing teams, take their career to the next level or design their legacy. Being senior means that it is so much harder to get the feedback you need, to grow. I get honest feedback for my clients and I tell them the truth, even if it’s tough so that they can be grounded in the reality that they need to grow. Being successful can also be lonely. I understand the "loneliness of leadership" because I have been there. I know firsthand how it feels to be surrounded by people and still feel alone because there is no-one objective that you can ask. I am that confidential, judgment-free sounding board for the big vision, the critical decisions, and the highs and the lows on the journey too.
