Jordan was not nearly as shocked as we were after the first round of prelims. That's the good news - in fact there's nothing but good news here -she loves her friends, her dorm, her new sports team, Econ and Fishbowl Wednesdays. Do you have any idea what that is?
Tune in to hear what's happening for the 2022 Freshmen and please send us a DM on Instagram if you have ever heard of the hottest song on the fraternity dance floors.

As application season approaches, we get an inside look at Kyle's journey through the exciting process of applying to Cornell.
Kyle comes from a family with strong ties to Cornell, but came to the realization all on her own that the veterinary program at Cornell is the one for her. She has a love of animals and learning and a deep appreciation for the importance of community and giving back.
She is a determined and passionate student with a personality that immediately draws you in. We absolutely loved her, you will too. We are hoping she will come on again as a newly admitted student...stay tuned on that!

Don't you love it when everything works out exactly as it should?
2 ILRies, not on campus at the same time, crossed paths in their professional lives, got married, and the rest is history.
Actually, it's not that simple.
In a When Harry Met Sally type interview, Aron and Nancy tell their story, test their knowledge in the Newlywed Game, and prove that the ILR school is a well oiled machine.

Cornell (thank) U - Flavia Scott - Get this Girl a Trophy Case, Stat!
play

06/24/24 • 23 min

She does stand up but this is no joke.

In this episode, we talk to Flavia Scott, an outstanding Cornell Human Ecology graduate who has left the campus and Ithaca better than she found it.
Flavia’s curiosity and dedication to advancing the science of human thriving shine through as we explore her journey and are frankly floored by how brilliant and deep thinking she is at such a young age.
She experienced the best Cornell had to offer by seizing all of the opportunities presented to her and then killing it. She has won several awards including the 2024 Cornell Human Ecology OUTSTANDING SENIOR AWARD! And it was tough competition!

She just gradated in May and plans to apply to medical school while contributing to Weill Cornell’s Global Women’s Research Initiative, addressing the gender gap in global health leadership.

We loved her!

Noah's dedication to justice advocacy and his involvement in critical human rights issues exemplify the importance of individuals striving to make a positive impact in society.
He's a 2024 Human Ecology graduate and we look forward to following his journey and the contributions he will undoubtedly make to the field of law and human rights.
He's had more involvement with Human Bonding than anyone we know except Professor Cindy Hazan, and we put his knowledge of the courtroom and human interaction to the test in a quiz we created just for him.
Not covered in the podcast:
Noah received the Henry Ricciuti Award for Outstanding Seniors in Human Development, 2024

Another yay/boo situation for The Cornell (thank) U Podcast.
HUGE yay: we were invited to be part of a panel at the Cornell Alumni Leadership Conference alongside three amazing social media stars: Matthew Merril, JC Dombrowski and Macy Hung.
This conference is really special.
We were excited.
We booked our travel.
We prepared.
We picked out outfits.
Steph got Covid. (That's the boo, obviously).
So Michelle flew solo and represented, even while feeling sad about it.
That aside, our co panelists were fabulous, the conference was an unbelievable opportunity to network, learn and have fun and the conference director Lindsey Murtland is incredible AND our podcast guest this week. Find out who was there and mark your calendars for next year. It is not to be missed!
Hoping to get our co panelists on the podcast soon.

Cornell (thank) U - Stephen Paletta: Lacrosse, Philanthropy, and Oprah?
play

12/30/24 • 51 min

From pioneering patented construction technologies that transformed NYC’s infrastructure, to working underground for over a decade (and surviving to share with us what’s really down there!), Stephen Paletta '87 has built a career and a life defined by innovation and purpose.
A life-changing trip to Rwanda sparked a mission of giving back, and he’s been reshaping philanthropy ever since.
As the "Biggest Giver" on Oprah’s Big Give, Stephen used his $1M prize to launch GiveBack, a platform empowering "everyday philanthropists" to create meaningful change.

Stephen’s time at Cornell was also life-changing in more personal ways. His friendship with Frank Kelly sparked a spiritual awakening that has guided his purpose-driven path. And in an incredible twist of fate, he met his wife when she was recovering from an injury, sharing his perspective as a fellow Cornell athlete navigating the challenges of recovery. You've got to hear about his lacrosse career.
AND, find out what "Paletta Palooza" means, what the surprise is in the "Hot Truck Tuna Surprise," and what Oprah is really like.
Thank you to Frank Kelly, Jack and Callie Gitlin. Timmy Kelly and Carolyn Paletta for bringing Stephen to the podcast.
