How Do I Regain a Passion to Study the Bible?
Core Christianity
03/20/20 • 25 min
Episode 405 | Dr. Michael Horton and Adriel Sanchez answer caller questions.
Key questions answered in today's show:
1. I'm a new believer. Jesus came from heaven to come down to be on earth did he know he was going to be resurrected and go back to heaven or did he come down only thinking he was going to die?
2. What should I do when my joy and passion to read the Bible has faded?
3. This week I was reading the Bible looking for answers. I have been struggling with ongoing sin. I struggle with lust. I came across a passage that gave me some hope of victory but I’m not sure how to apply it. Colossians 1:29, “For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.” How can I see God work powerfully within me in this area of my life?
4. On several episodes you have talked about the difference between the law and the gospel. I’m a bit confused. If we are forgiven does that mean that the law no longer applies to us?
5. How do you understand the great commission? Does the call to go apply to everyone; and what does Jesus mean when he says that he will be with us?
6. I'm Jewish but I'm a believer in Jesus the Messiah. I have always struggled with how Jews were saved before Jesus came. And is there salvation for Jews without Jesus? And I know in revelation it says that he does save a remnant of Israel. Thanks.

Episode 393 | Dr. Michael Horton and Adriel Sanchez answer caller questions.
Key questions answered in today's show:
1. How should Christians think about money, their money, other people’s money? Sometimes I hear people speak as if they are free to do whatever they please with their money (so long as it’s legal). Is this a Biblical view? 2. The Bible talks a lot about money. Why is money important to God? Why should we think about money as Christians? 3. Many people have anxiety over money and avoid talking about it. How can Christians deal with their anxiety about money and develop a healthy view of money? 4. 2. I like apologetics, but sometimes I worry that it gives the impression that if a person doesn’t have really good reasons for their faith then they don’t have true faith. But I have met some good Christian people who can’t give a good argument for the resurrection. What do you think?
3. How do we keep from getting so caught up in things like politics that we forget about the Gospel?
4. Is it okay for Christians to pray for God’s wrath towards those who are against him?

Core Christianity
02/20/20 • 25 min
Episode 384 | Dr. Michael Horton and Adriel Sanchez answer caller questions.
Key questions answered in today's show:
1. In 1 Corinthians 15:50 it says, “I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.” I’m really confused about this because it sounds like Paul is saying that sin is tied to our body.
2. Are good works part of salvation; and what are good works exactly?
3. What is the most important thing New believers need to understand about worship?
4. My question relates to the end of 1 Corinthians 14 were it says, "let him who is spiritual acknowledge that what I’m writing to you is a command of the Lord.” What do you see here that is being commanded?
