Hi, I'm Kyle Lamont, your host and wow, I had the incredible opportunity to spend time with Lena, the lead singer of GoldenOak, in her cozy she-shed as she prepared for her headlining performance at the Under the Oaks Music Festival in Western Maine. Known for her unique and stylish outfits, Lena walked me through her pre-show routine, sharing intimate details of how her fashion choices intertwine with her music. But it wasn't all serious - we had laugh-out-loud moments too, even roasting band members' outfits.
The experience was part of a two-day camping festival where I wandered through the woods on a mushroom foraging adventure along the Sandy River and joined fellow festival-goers for a pancake breakfast served by the band. Throughout the episode, I leaned into my curiosity about how fashion, music, and location influence each other, bringing in voices from fans who shared their thoughts on this fascinating interplay.
I invite you to push play on "Let's Go Festival," a podcast series on ConcertCast.live that transports you to community-focused music events, offering an intimate look at the intersection of music and culture.

Analog Music Venue in Athens, Georgia called Happy Top
Push play for a tour of Happy Top, a one-of-a-kind B&B in Athens, Georgia that's also an analog performance space and recording studio. You'll hear the origin story, the approach to the vintage decoration and design (there's a piano in every room. Literally.), and how owner T.S. Woodward created a signal flow speaker system, giving each room a different audio flavor. Plus, an authentic perspective on why Athens has such a special music scene.
I'm Kyle Lamont, founder and host of Concert Cast, a rockumentary podcast network. Our series "In the Pocket" explores independently owned venues where music and community come together in surprising places. We showcase these unique spots, often at risk due to gentrification, by telling their stories and showing how they shape concert culture.
T.S Woodward wishes to say a very special thank you to Michael Smith-Lanzar (his next door neighbor from 2019-2022 [but resident there since 2014]) who was the first person he met on Bryan St, told him all about the history of Happy Top, helped to negotiate with the city the sewer/water infrastructure & who is an indefatigable activist for human rights.

A "Wild" Band Interview with 76th Street
"Wild" is a 6-song musical journey featuring everything from a heart-pounding love song dedicated to Nashville's hottest queer bar to what might be the most joyful and liberating break-up song you'll ever hear. The album peaks with a homage to gay musicians who inspired the band, evolving into its own queer anthem guaranteed to get you dancing and leave you humming, "I think that I just got more gay."
Kyle's bond with the band dates back to 2021 when she chronicled the sonic soul sisters' Nashville debut in a rockumentary podcast, capturing the besties as they performed, rehearsed, and prepped for shows. This follow-up video podcast offers a glimpse into the band's musical evolution as both artists and humans. While their lyrics now embrace same-sex pronouns, 76th Street's core message remains unwavering: strength, independence, and radical self-love. Their friendship has also evolved, now bearing a new title: platonic wives!
