Wolfenstein 3D (IMHO) was the catalyst for the modern first person shooter. It was also the reason I insisted that my parents pickup an IBM-Compatible PC. That PC would be an AST Advantage Adventure 6066d with a 486DX2/66 processor and 8MB of RAM and is the inspiration behind the 486 Deluxe podcast.

Thanks to the Commodore Chronicles Family of Podcasts "Fast Load Collective" Patrons Chris Petzel, Jim Pones, Matthew Warren and Eric Nelson. I'm so thankful for your on-going support! Covered in episode nine of the Commodore Chronicles podcast. 1) A new segment, The Commodore Years, a rapid fire grouping of recommendations by year. This episode features the Commodore year of 1982. 2) Three bits of news. 3) Reviews of Bagman Comes Back and Bagman Strikes Back by LC Games, Galaga C64 by Arlasoft and Zeta Wing by Witchsoft. With the introduction of Fine and Tandy, we’re going to see a few changes in the Commodore Chronicles. Rather than normally featuring multiple titles per show, both the Commodore Chronicles and Fine and Tandy will feature a single review per episode. The reviews will more in depth though. Plus, this will yield an episode of each per month. So twice the me... If that’s a good or not, I’ll let you decide. As for our next title on the Commodore Chronicles, we’ll be featuring the classic Lucasarts Point and Click Maniac Mansion. And for the first episode of Fine and Tandy, we’re going to cover the isometric puzzle platformer, D/Generation.
