Hi all! We’re back from our season break! Did you miss us? We definitely missed you. For this episode, Darci and Brian, (Carrie unfortunately couldn’t join us to record)p, discuss Darci’s choice: The Sprite and the Gardener by Rii Abrego, Joe Whitt, and Crank! From Oni Press. There’s talk about the coloring, panel placement and, of course, friendship among other things.

The CDB Crew also talk about a new Heavy Metal themed comic coming soon to Kickstarter as well as their spotlighted books: Bolero #1 by Wyatt Ashley-Costello Kennedy, Luana Vecchio and Brandon Graham (Image) and This Was Our Pact by Ryan Andrews (First Second).

Also, decide at the end if Brian has gone insane during the break and is expressing this by being “artsy” on his personal Instagram page. Don’t worry, despite what he said, “Ennui” is not going to be next week’s guest star.

Brian, Darci, and Logan court controversy yet again by discussing the news about the Keanu Reeves/BOOM! Studios KickStarter BRZKR as well as the announcement of the 4 Kids Walk Into the Bank film and the 2020 Ignatz Awards. But the main event of the episode is a discussion of Ryan O'Sullivan and Andrea Mutti's Vault Comics fantasy series Fearscape. Two of our hosts liked this book, but one was definitely drinking the haterade. You'll have to listen to the episode to find out who's who. Finally, other comics mentioned in this episode include Tartarus, Akagami no Shirayukihime, Grendel Kentucky, Ice Cream Man Presents: Quarantine Comix, Seance Tea Party, and Powers: The Best Ever.

Hi All! The CDB Crew is back and this time we are interviewing comics creator Ahmed Raafat who's comic, The Diary of the Astro-Nudes, will soon be starting a crowdfunding campaign on Zoop. Brian, Darci, Richard and returning guest-host Rebecca strike up a conversation with Ahmed about the differences of comic-book culture in different countries, casual nudity and maybe a Ninja Turtle or two. (Team Raph Forever!) It was a delightful time and Ahmed's comic is really great so we all hope you enjoy the interview as well as The Diary of the Astro-Nudes!

Here is the link to Ahmed's campaign: https://zoop.gg/c/astronudes

Before the interview, we get into our initial thoughts about the big update on Comixology and as always, do some book recommendations which are: Rain #1-2 by Joe Hill, David M. Booher, Zoe Thorogood, Chris O’Halloran, and Shawn Lee (Image/Syzygy); That Salty Air by Tim Sievert (Top Shelf); Chicken Devil #3 by Brian Buccellato, Hayden Sherman & Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou (Aftershock); The Unfinished Corner by Dani Colman, Rachel Petrovicz, Wendy Cogar, and Jim Campbell (Vault/Wonderbound).
