Welcome to COauthored, the oral history podcast from the Community Museums of History Colorado. In this show, we will bring you episodes of community-recorded oral histories from around Colorado. This show is born out of the Museum of Memory at El Pueblo History Museum in Pueblo, CO. The Community Museums collaborate with residents around Colorado to co-author rich histories punctuated by family, culture, resilience, survival, and the need to take care of each other. Oral history collection is a core piece of collections and exhibits in the Community Museums, and collections are currently underway around the state. A ton of work has gone into the development of this project. José Ortega, the Exhibits and Collections Coordinator for Community Museums has led a lot of the collections work and also edits and engineers the podcast. Zach Werkowitch, the Community Relations Coordinator for Community Museums is the host. Dawn DiPrince, the Chief Community Museum Officer for History Colorado, drew inspiration from the neighborhoods of her ancestors and started the Museum of Memory at El Pueblo. Most importantly, dozens of volunteer community historians have collected the stories we will bring you.
