Podcast Q&A

Why did you start this show?

My boss made me. I'm kidding, mostly. Our team educates people about windows and doors, manufacturing, building codes, and other business topics. No one else was using the podcast studio, so we took it over. That was 2 years ago, and since then, I've posted 100 episodes! It's me and other smart people, and I just try to ask questions that our customers will find helpful.

What do you hope listeners gain from listening to your show?

We hope that our listeners will learn more about topics relating to the window and door industry, about our company, about things like learning, business, building codes, and anything else that I feel like would be helpful for them to understand. It's a giant commercial for our company, but also helpful to anyone who wants to learn more about fenestration.

Which episode should someone start with?

Windows and Doors 101 (episodes 16-21) is a great one for consumers who need to buy windows and doors. It's not for everyone, but those that are in this space are finding it helpful. It's not always the most exciting or entertaining podcast, but I do try to make it fun!

Which have been your favourite episodes so far?

I loved the series called Past, Present and Future (episodes 50-57) as we talked with the founder of our company, and how impact resistant products were born, and a few of our engineers discussed future technologies with glass.

Which episode are you most proud of?

I think the one that posted this week - Episode 100 with our President and CEO, as he talks about where the company was 10 years ago, where we are now, and what plans are for the future.

What is your vision for your show?

My vision is that we are leveraging the expansive knowledge that is available to us to help our customers, who are small business owners, stay up to date and learn more about our organization. Additionally, that homeowners who are shopping have a place to learn more before they invest in purchasing windows and doors.

What is your favourite other podcast that isn't yours?

I love the Huberman Lab podcast. It's all about learning!

How did you come up with the name for your podcast?

We began as a Florida based door and window manufacturer - and the first impact resistant product to market. Obviously in Florida we deal with hurricanes, and our products literally save lives. So we are making a Clear Impact in our industry, and for our customers, and our products are Clear and Impact rated.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I love talking to people and learning, and I also tackled this when I was brand new in this role with the education team. I had no idea how much I would enjoy doing this, and I am thankful for the exposure has allowed me to have within our company and industry. Besides work, I love the beach, sea turtles, books, travel, and my family.
