You know what, I loved having this conversation with Austin and I loved listening back to it while editing. This is a movie that both encourages and defies explanation. Truly one of a kind. We had a couple hours to chat about it which didn't increase my understanding of the film one bit but considerably increased my appreciation of it and that, to me, is a sign of great art. It's beguiling; It continues to unfold without ever truly revealing its secrets. I hope you all get a chance to see Eraserhead and I hope you all enjoy this discussion which is more AROUND the movie than ABOUT it, if that makes sense.
The book that I mention in this episode, which I forgot the name of during recording, is "Eraserhead, The David Lynch Files: Volume 1" by Kenneth Godwin.

Dawn of the Dead with Becky Catalano (1978)
A year after their Night of the Living Dead episode, Becky and Raymond return to the works of George A. Romero. It's an impulse they can't explain, perhaps something buried deep down in their psyche. This filmmaker meant something to them when they were younger and they can't resist coming back again and again, year after year. They get up and podcast. The people who listen get up and podcast!
