good night, and good luck. (2005) - Movie Review and Analysis
Aaron and Steve discuss the 2005 film “good night, and good luck.” During the Red Scare of the 1950’s, fear in America was rampant over who could be harboring Communist sympathies. Senator Joe McCarthy of Wisconsin exploited this fear in a power grab masquerading as a Senate investigative committee who would routinely accuse people of being a Communist, while denying them proper due process. When these tactics reached a breaking point, it was up to Edward R. Murrow (David Straitharm) and his crew at the CBS’ See It Now news show, to stand up to the Senator, and shed light on his unethical and un-American tactics.

Raise your hand if you really care about Joe and Shirley’s story?

Where the hell was Jeff Daniel’s character the ENTIRE movie?

What were Liberace’s views on marriage?

These questions and more on this week’s Cinema Decon.
Version 2 of this audio uploaded on October 30th fixing Steve's cut-off audio.

Content to aimlessly hit balls on the range, conduct the occasional golf lesson and drink each night with his local crew, his life changes when a new student revives his spark for the game. The new student, Dr. Molly Giswold (Rene Russo), happens to be the new girlfriend of his lifelong golf rival David Simms (Don Johnson.) Through personal and professional humiliations by Simms, Roy sets out on a mission to win the U.S. Open golf tournament and win the good Doctor’s heart in the process.
