I want to welcome Ed to The Squad. He was medically retired and he shares the facts behind that on the show. He almost made it to 20 years, but he had a very full career. I really enjoyed getting to know him and I think you are going to love this episode too! Turn it up, and enjoy!
This week, you all helped this show go over 10,000 downloads! You ROCK! I'm so happy to know my friends legacies are being heard and that you are enjoying them as much as I do.
Be safe out there!

Choir Practice Podcast - Episode 22- Ari Sloane Part 1 (Retired Tucson Police)
play

04/27/22 • 214 min

Send us a text

Ari is a retired Tucson Police Officer who moved on to bigger and better things. Once retired, he became the Head of Security for our local power company. But more interestingly, he's been almost a lifelong member of his band, Broken Romeo, and also moonlights as a DJ on his own radio show on mojo radio. I enjoyed getting to know him better, you will too. Like several of my previous guests, Ari has to return for part 2 because he realized, as we were wrapping up, that he never even mentioned pulling traffic on an airplane, years of experiences on the Hostage Negotiations Unit and more! Look for that one the next couple weeks.
Welcome Ari to the Squad! Enjoy...

Ben Frie is currently a Sgt with the Tucson Police Department. We met in 2004-2005 working in the Downtown Division. We chat about his career, how he fell into law enforcement and many of the harrowing experiences he's conquered during his tenure with the agency, both in patrol and as a SWAT team member. I consider him a friend, an excellent Sgt and a great cop. Tune in and turn it up!

The better half of the "Dave and Betsy" show blessed the studio with her presence and spent some quality time in the hot seat! She shared her career highlights, and a few low lights ;-), before moving on to training police officers on an international level with her husband. They've dedicated their lives to training and supporting police in America and around the world. Please tune in, give her a warm welcome and enjoy the show!

Choir Practice Podcast - Greg Perrin (Retired Tucson Police Motor Officer, USMC)

I can't tell you how happy I was to reconnect with Greg. The last time I really saw him was 2004! His career was ended tragically short by a collision while on his police motorcycle. He shares that story, but many more about being a street cop, a SWAT operator and a motor cop. Now, he's semi-retired and flies planes as a hobby.
I'm honored, and it's my pleasure, to introduce Greg to you as well. I know you will tune in and give him the warmest welcome to this awesome family...

Choir Practice Podcast - Ron Payette (Retired Tucson Police Officer and Chaplain)

I think you are going to find Ron's start with the Tucson Police Department to be very interesting, I know I did! He was one of those officers who had a knack for catching bad guys. Many super cops who I've had the honor of working with looked up to Ron, if that's any indication about his abilities.
Again, it is my honor to help create legacies for these iconic officers and I'm so glad he agreed to come and hang out. Spread the word, share the podcast with your friends and we'll keep cranking them out!
Happy New Year everyone!

My guest this week was introduced to me by Bill Hanson! Mike and I texted a few times and made plans for him to join The Squad!
He spent 32 years with San Bernardino County, rising through the ranks, and had plenty of super cool experiences along the way. Considering his interest during college was biology, he got an up close look at humanity and the shenanigans that ensue from the craziest of biology's animals!!!! HAHAHAHHA
I appreciated his time, loved hearing his stories, and he will be another member of the squad who needs to return because he has so many more experiences to share...
Give Mike a warm welcome and please, enjoy the episode...
