Can you see past the obvious? Can you read between the lines, and really understand what is being said, without it being said? That is the key to successful communication. Often patients will tell you the reason why they are there, but that is not the REAL reason. It's just the first thing they are thinking of. It takes skill to sift through and get to the root cause.
