#08-what can you do the moment you have anxiety?

Cheryl's CalmCast

What can you do the moment you get anxiety?

I don’t know about you, but the moment I get a “flutter” of anxiety, my brain starts to go into overdrive. This is not helpful and it just increases my anxiety. Over the years I realized that my brain and body are not always on the same page.

In this episode, I go over the way to change how anxiety affects you before it gets too much.

  • How one technique can stop it rather quickly.
  • Learn to know the difference between your thinking and emotions.
  • How to notice what is happening without freaking out.
  • I share one of my stories about anxiety.

Enjoy the pod and remember to be curious, be consistent, and make sure you breathe!

Stop Listening to your lying brain

Your brain is lying to you, did you know that.

In this episode, I talk about the left side of the brain and how this speech and communication center works. It is considered the interpreter and it interprets our thoughts regardless of whether it is right or wrong. Basically, our left side of our brain lies to us.
I go over three ways to stop this lying brain.

  1. Never assume.
  2. Become mindful and notice in the most simple way.
  3. Label your thoughts.
