Welcome to the Prompt Engineering Podcast, where we teach you the art of writing effective prompts for AI systems like ChatGPT, Bard, and more. Each week we explore prompting techniques, interviews with experts and newbies, and tips on selling your prompts.
This podcast is going to very different from most podcasts about ChatGPT. Instead of covering the news (which is awesome, and there are plenty of podcasts for that!) this is about how to write good prompts.
As I interview people, we'll be going over prompts they've made and calling out different techniques. Techniques like role-playing, shot prompting, context setting, format constraint, etc.
Episodes will come out each week, with a few occasional bonus episodes.
In the meantime, let me know who you'd like me to interview at PromptEngineeringPodcast.com
And also I'm hosting masterminds on prompt engineering, join the LinkedIn group to hear about them.

Sorry for the silence. I'm dealing with major depression :( Back late July
ChatGPT & Prompt Engineering Podcast
06/29/23 • 0 min
Hi, Greg here. Apologies for the delay in publishing. I am unfortunately struggling with some pretty serious depression and anxiety. I'm going to be getting on a new medication, so I definitely will be coming back. Episodes will start appearing in your feed again late July, and I will also be doing the next Prompt Engineering Mastermind late July.
In the meantime, I have been helping organize a hackathon in San Diego: https://lu.ma/sdxai So if you're in California, we would love to have you come.
And I've also been getting messages from people saying how much the Podcast and the Mastermind have been helpful for them. And that has been phenomenal right now. So thank you so much for those. I will be back soon. Depression is a thing, but I'm gonna be okay. And the new medication will help.
Thanks. See you soon.

Brainstorming with ChatGPT vs Bard vs Bing -- results will surprise you (they certainly surprised me!)
ChatGPT & Prompt Engineering Podcast
06/03/23 • 17 min
We've all heard how amazing Bard and Bing are supposed to be. Supposedly ChatGPT is "dead" because of them, right? Particularly because they can access the internet, and ChatGPT's "browsing" ability is still in paid beta.
Well, I did some brainstorming and compared how all three do. You're going to be shocked by the results -- I certainly was.

Using ChatGPT & Midjourney for the #hustleGPT challenge, and for SEO
ChatGPT & Prompt Engineering Podcast
04/07/23 • 21 min
Sean Ridley, founder of MSP SEO Synergy, is an SEO expert who has been exploring the applications of AI in marketing. He learned about prompt engineering through Twitter and was one of the first 50 businesses to start the #HustleGPT challenge.
Sean has been using ChatGPT for many things:
- Developing website copy: ChatGPT has helped Sean create the copy for his agency's website, including meta descriptions and other content.
- Social media presence: Sean has utilized ChatGPT to generate posts for platforms like Twitter and LinkedIn, helping him effectively communicate about his business.
- Used Midjourney to brainstorm ideas for website layouts and design, and loves Pait Digital's prompts
He's excited about:
- Scaling ideas: AI's ability to take small human ideas and scale them beyond the person's imagination is what excites Sean the most.
- ChatGPT plugins: particularly integrating with apps like Instacart and Zapier for automation.
- Inspiration from others: Sean shouted out https://twitter.com/Lauren_79 who shares beautiful and majestic prompts on MidJourney.

AI in Marketing with Eldad: "ChatGPT, write like Joan Rivers" 😳 -- and it works great!
ChatGPT & Prompt Engineering Podcast
12/30/23 • 31 min
I'm part of Synthminds, and I brought on our marketing genius Eldad Sotnick-Yogev. He often takes the roleplaying technique a step further, by asking it to write like specific famous people. Hemingway is great for short and succinct writing; Donald Miller: storytelling; Gary Vaynerchuk: striking. And you won't believe his favorite person to use (I definitely didn't): Joan Rivers!
He also shared the best metaphor for explaining how to _work with_ ChatGPT: "ChatGPT is C3-PO. Han Solo hated it. Unless he started yelling at it, he couldn't get it to work. Luke Skywalker understood how to banter with it and it produced for him regularly."
We also discussed the recent paper Large Language Models Understand and Can Be Enhanced by Emotional Stimuli: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2307.11760.pdf and also discussed by PromptHub.us: https://www.prompthub.us/blog/getting-emotional-with-llms
