Culture with Artem Shlaine
Chasing MacNaughton
04/10/24 • 53 min
Season 5 Episode 55 of the Chasing MacNaughton Podcast from Tech Hockey Guide, "Culture" This week Tim Braun, Dustin Lindstrom, Rob Gilreath, and Matt Cavender were joined by Artem Shlaine, the 2023-24 Captain of the Northern Michigan Wildcats. Last week, an April Fools Satirical story turned mostly true as NMU has 14 players in the NCAA Transfer Portal. Artem Shlaine originally reached out to get us to correct the April Fools story because it had him turning pro by signing a deal with Utah in the ECHL. It was done in good fun but that led to some conversations and Shlaine agreed to come on the podcast to talk about his career, the April Fool Story, the transfer poral, NMU Hockey and coach Grant Potulny. It was a great conversation and a wonderful insight into the transfer portal for any fan struggling to understand why players might be making the decision to enter the portal.
