Have you ever felt so alone at CBS that you wondered if anyone would notice if you suddenly disappeared? Earlier this year, The Danish Association of Masters and PhDs released a study showing that one in every nine students at Danish universities have experienced loneliness. And CBS students are no exception. In this CBS WIRE podcast episode, you’ll hear from Luca Rebeka Szabó. She’s a student at CBS, and she has felt lonely while studying here. Luca is accompanied by the President of CBS Students, Mikkel Nielsen, and student Rebekka Kongsgaard who tells about their experiences on the matter from their work. And, if you feel like no one would bat an eyelid if you one day vanished from campus, maybe you’ll feel a bit happier after hearing this podcast!

“Luck is not a business model” – these are apparently the words of the American celebrity chef and author Anthony Bourdain. But if luck isn’t a business model, where does that leave us? In this podcast, you’ll meet Thomas Ritter, professor at the Department of Strategy and Innovation at CBS. He has researched companies, and how they earn money, for pretty well all his life, and he’s certainly the man to consult about Business Models. He will help us on our way to becoming a little wiser about how all kinds of developments in the world at large can have a huge impact on your business model – and through that, on your enterprise. In this episode, you’ll also hear some great examples of companies, such as Skype, that became very successful due to their alternative and innovative business models. So, if you’d like to gain some more perspectives and insight into how Business Models can help you strike gold – just listen to our new podcast!

These are the words that famous R&B musician Drake sang in his massive hit ‘Hotline Bling’. That was back in 2015, and now, five years later, Drake’s words are more in tune with reality than ever. In 2018, figures from the Danish Energy Agency and the phone company 3 showed that the Danes are increasingly turning their backs on phone conversations. That year, the Danes spoke one billion fewer minutes on the phone than in 2017. And if we glance at the statistics since 2005, one in every four phone calls have disappeared. In other words, phone conversations may slowly end up being over and out. In this podcast, Jesper Tække, Associate Professor of Media Studies at Aarhus University, and Bent Meier Sørensen, Professor at the Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy, each give their professional perspectives on what makes phone conversations so unique, how they contribute to our conversation skills, and what the consequences would be if we stop calling each other. Enjoy!
