It's time to Level Up! 🎮 🎙️Join A Cartridge and A Quest, where 2 friends born in 1985 (the year the NES changed everything!), journey through life, gaming, and everything in between.

We'll be reliving classic adventures, share hilarious stories from our childhoods, and reflecting on how those experiences shaped us into the (slightly) more responsible adults we are today.

Plus, we'll discuss the joys (and challenges!) of parenting, and how our love for gaming is now being passed down to the next generation.

Get ready for a retro-fueled ride down memory lane, seasoned with a healthy dose of dad jokes and the occasional "Where's my hoverboard?!" moment. 🎮

FoodieMikeC and Average Trav triumphantly (sort of) return for their second episode, which is basically their podcast's awkward teenage phase. They celebrate their one-episode anniversary, ponder the meaning of "second base" (get your minds out of the gutter!), and admit they're still trying to figure out how to stream games without their internet looking like a potato. Nerd news involves ancient microprocessors, a super-fast chip that might let them finally talk to aliens, and a deep dive into the legal battles behind controller rumble. Then it's Marvel Snap time, where they complain about random game effects and debate whether having a "crappy deck" is just an excuse for losing. Remember The Jetsons? Turns out, they predicted everything, including robot vacuums that smear dog poop (a true horror story). The guys then tackle gaming conspiracies, like whether you can jump over the flag in Mario Bros. (spoiler: probably not, but they'll investigate...maybe). They also discuss mini N64s and the burning question of whether Luigi and Wario are secretly hiding in Mario 64. Finally, they ponder the ethics of save states and rewind buttons, and whether using them makes you a cheater (probably).

"Cartridge and Quest," geared towards "elder emos" and "elder millennials" – basically, gamers who grew up in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s and are now experiencing the joys and pains of getting older (think creaky knees and random aches). They plan to discuss gaming, life, kids, and everything in between, creating a safe space for listeners to connect and share experiences. They also plan to have guests on the show. With the Super Bowl approaching, they're excited, although as Cowboys fans, they're obligated to root against the Eagles. FoodieMikeC then recounts a story about meeting various NFL players, including Dante Hall, at a cooking event a few years back. They became friends, and now Dante Hall is joining them on the podcast to talk about gaming.

In this uproarious episode of Cartridge and Quest, FoodieMikeC and Average Travis are back with more hilarious nonsense. They discuss the highs and lows of setting up a Patreon (baked beans in pants, anyone?), the terror of fever dreams (lawsuits and peener monsters!), and the wild world of online gaming connections (Fortnite engagements?!). They also dive into the nostalgia of retro gaming, reminiscing about Sega Dreamcasts and the early days of online multiplayer. Plus, they announce this month's "quest" - a rewatch of the cult classic "Grandma's Boy" - and ask listeners for suggestions on what crazy quest they should embark on next. Get ready for laughs, questionable anecdotes, and a whole lot of gaming goodness.

Two guys, way too much caffeine, and a whole lotta opinions on everything nerdy! Average Trav and FoodieMikeC dive headfirst into the latest nerd news, dissect "Grandma's Boy" (spoiler: they liked it!), and give some love to local haunts like the Regent Theater. Oh, and they actually answer listener mail... like, with their voices and stuff. It's a wild ride through the minds of two self-proclaimed nerds, and you might just learn a thing or two. Alright, picture this: two dudes, "FoodieMikeC" and "Average Trav," are basically running a digital daycare for broken iPads and malfunctioning soundboards, all while trying to remember if they're "elder millennials" or just really confused dads. Trav is still recovering from a Chicago adventure that sounds like a cross between a frat party and a ghost hunt (mysterious puking, anyone?), while Mike's having deep thoughts about AI agents organizing his grocery list – because, let's face it, that's the future.

They're wrestling with video editing software like it's a rabid badger, debating the merits of Gemini versus Apple Intelligence (spoiler: Apple's losing), and trying to nail down a podcast outro that doesn't sound like a dial-up modem. Oh, and they're also warning you about "cell phone trolls" in a mall basement, because apparently, that's a thing. Plus, they're trying to figure out "What Would Trav Do?" in Fortnite, which probably involves a lot of virtual chaos and "dang its." Basically, it's a glorious mess of tech talk, dad jokes, and the kind of nostalgia that makes you wonder if you should just go back to bed.
