It’s time to build community and keep the energy flowing equally. Hilary calls it the girl power card, and often, the reverse side relates it back to gossip.

Episode 76: When Tarot Comes for You
Cardslingers Coast to Coast
04/28/23 • 43 min
Hilary and Jaymi talk about reading tarot for your self and Mary K Greer’s Tarot for Yourself. Strangely the two do relate, and cross over, and we feel it’s time to chat about the connections and our observations. We discuss what happens when the cards call you out and go a lot deeper than you expected for reading material. And we share stories of when tarot came for us when reading for others.
Homework: Record readings from others and get permission to write that down. See if there’s a message for you in them. Learn to discern how this happens.

Episode 42: Spooky Scary Horror Cards
Cardslingers Coast to Coast
10/08/21 • 41 min
Hilary and Jaymi welcome guest host Onareo for a spooky trip through tarot’s scary horror cards. Chris is a mystic from the East Coast, and his Instagram feed is fun and informative. He’s also one of the instructors for this year’s Kitchen Table Gathering.
As an added bonus, this week’s episode is brought to you by one of our 13 listeners. Lucky number 13 asked, “Which cards for you are the cards you never want to see in a reading for yourself and especially, if different, what cards do you find difficult to read for a client. And how do you overcome that situation, what methods do you use?” Thanks for this excellent question! Hope you don’t get too scared of our responses! *cue maniacal laughter here*
You can still sign up for the Kitchen Table Gathering happening November 6-7, 2021. It’s virtual! Come learn from Onareo, V from Redlight Readings, Potter, and our very own Melissa. Hilary and Jaymi will also be in attendance. It’s a fun and fantastic time! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/kitchen-table-gathering-tarot-conference-tickets-157000112563

Episode 41: Give Us Your Gentle Honesty
Cardslingers Coast to Coast
09/24/21 • 34 min
Fire signs adore honesty; sometimes "brutal honesty." However, sometimes the brutal truth doesn't deliver the message appropriately. So, Melissa, Hilary, and Jaymi answer a listener's question, "How do you handle readings where the cards show an outcome that will disappoint?" This week, we share our stories on delivering messages while remaining kind. This is a different delivery than “sugar coating.” Tarot can be a reflection, and our job is to help clients navigate the situations they present to us.
Props and shout-outs to Madame Adam for restoring Melissa's tarot faith. Look him up on https://linktr.ee/MadamAdam3

Episode 39: How Do We Do This
Cardslingers Coast to Coast
08/27/21 • 26 min
Here it is, the long-awaited HDWDT (howdowedoeeeeet) episode. We collected all your questions and picked the most relevant one. While we read for the winner, this may also apply to you as well. Without further ado, let’s introduce the question and show you a taste of how we read.
Hi Cardslingers,
My name is G and I'm a big fan of your podcast! I've been reading mostly for myself for about 10 years now, but I've never had a professional read for me. Regardless of the question you choose, I'm interested in seeing your different approaches to a reading.
Like most people the pandemic has really worn me down, but I was managing well enough until November. After that, stress from the election, holidays working retail (in a pandemic), and being short-staffed at work had me mentally and physically exhausted. Then to top things off, my grandmother entered hospice and passed away just a few days ago. I feel like I can't quite get my footing. My question is what do I need to do to work towards finding some peace or balance?
Thank you for the opportunity!
The Cards and decks we used:
- Melissa: Scorpio Seas Tarot (3 cards) 5 Cups rx, Knight Cups Rx, The Moon
- Hilary: Radiant Rider Waite Smith Tarot (4 cards, one jumper, all reversed) 6 Cups rx, 7 Swords rx, Queen Swords rx, 10 Cups rx
- Jaymi: This Might Hurt Tarot (3 cards) Ace Cups, King of Wands, 9 Cups

Episode 31 Cards and Stars: tarot and astrology
Cardslingers Coast to Coast
04/23/21 • 41 min
This episode was recorded while Melissa was dealing with her health. Hilary and Jaymi reached into the listener bag and grabbed another topic from one of our seven listeners. They wanted us to know how we use tarot and astrology together. For the most part Hilary and Jaymi experiment and play with astrology while reading the cards.
There is so much out there and you can find a lot more people and books than we have time to cover.

Episode 21: Dealing with Hard Readings
Cardslingers Coast to Coast
11/27/20 • 16 min
Sometimes readings aren’t all shiny and happy. Sometimes, the reading gets deep and unexpected. In these hard readings, tarot readers have an even more important job than tossing cards onto a table. We hold space, really listen to our clients and give them time to speak, and bear witness to their journey.

Episode 71: Manifesting Jason Momoa with Theresa Reed
Cardslingers Coast to Coast
02/10/23 • 76 min
Hilary and Jaymi take time to chat with one of their beloved mentors, Theresa Reed. Join in as Theresa shares many great nuggets of wisdom, including this one:
“We must never take our elders, teachers, and mentors for granted. They deserve the ultimate respect for passing down their experience and wisdom. To be in the presence of greatness and knowledge is a gift, one that can be taken away in the blink of an eye.
So today, thank the teachers, mentors, and wise elders in your life. Show your gratitude for what they are giving you. Honor them NOW while they are still here.” https://www.thetarotlady.com/the-hit-list-elders-mentors/

Episode 116: A Year Ahead With the Twos
Cardslingers Coast to Coast
12/30/24 • 20 min
We made it to the end of 2024! As a nice wrap-up to our deep dive into the Twos that finished last year (teehee) and to honor the year ahead, we’re getting readings with the Twos. The magic of the twos is about finding balance within yourself during every stage of life.
Melissa showcases how to read with the Aces, the Twos, the Fool, the Magician, and the High Priestess, proving that you can do readings with a small pack of 11 cards. She also gives Jaymi and Hilary suggestions for spells to honor the reading. Melissa, as usual, reads us to filth using very few cards.
Homework: Shuffle your deck and draw cards until you reach the Fool. The card before The Fool is where you came from, and the card behind The Fool may tell you where you’re going or what needs to happen next!
See you all next year!
