What do we need to grow a food forest? In this 2-part conversation, Olabanji and Inma talked about how plants and animals can grow harmoniously in a food forest. In the 2nd part, Inma and Olabanji shared some ideas and personal experiences of community gardens in Seville. When Inma was living in Seville, she couldn’t grow food in her garden. so she joined a community. She found much more than gardening and food growing, but really what a community means.

The second myth is about cold weather showing that the climate isn’t changing. They discuss the extremes of weather and how one town no longer exists!

Jenn and Olabanji talked about how the maintenance of lawns in many areas of the world have a larger carbon footprint than what is saved by having the lawn in the first place. They talk about how lawns can be repurposed or just treated differently so that they can be more environmentally friendly.
In the second half, Imma and Olabanji talk about how often we go out shopping for food and how much time we spend doing this. How we can reduce the number of times we go shopping and even help others in our community by shopping for the elderly, walking to the market and other opportunities.

A 2011 study showed that a leaf blower emits nearly 300 times the amount of air pollutants as a pickup truck.

In this episode, the problem with one piece of garden machinery is discussed; the leaf blower. The pollution from gasoline and noise, as well as the alternatives are covered.
