We turn now to the final letter in the TULIP acronym and the “P” stand for “Perseverance of the Saints”. In this sermon we start to look at the beautiful truth that God keeps us and is faithful to finish the work He began in us at conversion. We also take some time to look at some false understandings of this doctrine, lest we have a false sense of assurance.

As we continue our study of the Doctrines of Grace, we come now to the “I” in our TULIP acronym which stands for Irresistible Grace. We look at John 6 where Jesus teaches how it is that we come to Him.

As we move through the doctrines of grace we come to the “L” in the TULIP acronym. The L stands for “Limited atonement” and so we look at in what sense the atonement is limited. While it is unlimited in it’s sufficiency, we do see that there is a definite group of people that Jesus intended to redeem at the across and after his suffering he announced, “it is finished”.
